A cheap analogue of bepanten. Other foreign substitutes. Cheaper analogues of "Bepanten"

Topical cream "Bepanten" is used to treat dermatitis, skin lesions, minor cuts, bruises and abrasions.

It relieves swelling and pain from burns and insect bites, and helps soften the skin of psoriasis.

It is prescribed as a preventive measure skin inflammation for newborns.

Description

The active substance of the drug is dexpanthenol. This is vitamin B5. It also includes almond oil.

Dexpanthenol strengthens collagen fibers, which leads to the cessation of inflammatory processes. It has no contraindications and is used to care for children from the first days of life.

Moreover, it can best replace baby cream. The active substance is a component of many similar creams and ointments.

"Bepanten" is the most popular foreign remedy. It is also the most expensive. Its cost is about 400 rubles.

But, fortunately, there are analogues. Several domestic and foreign inexpensive drugs can successfully replace it in all respects.

The composition of "Bepanten", in addition to the main substance, includes: lanolin (sheep fat), protegin X, wax, paraffin, water.

Separately, it is necessary to explain what protegin X is. It is a combination of several components - liquid paraffin (made from petroleum), petrolatum (a mixture of wax, synthetic mineral oil), glyceryl and oleic acid.

Bepanten for psoriasis

Cream, ointment, and lotion “Bepanten” are successfully used for treatment dermatological diseases, including psoriasis.

The products perfectly eliminate the problem of dry skin and have a healing and regenerating effect.

Note: To treat weeping areas of the skin, dermatologists recommend using Bepanten ointment. Unlike cream, whose action is superficial, ointment penetrates deeply into the skin, softens and soothes it, and promotes wound healing. It is best to apply the ointment under a bandage.

Analogs

Cheap substitutes for German antibacterial cream have the same performance indicators as Bepanten. A doctor or pharmacy consultant will advise you which one is best to choose.

Based on the substance dexpanthenol, the following are produced:

  1. "Dexpanthenol"– ointment with basic substance of the same name, made in Serbia. Its price is much lower than that of Bepanten, and starts from 130 rubles per tube;

Note:"Dexpanthenol" is also produced in Russia by the company "Vertex". This is an ointment in 30 ml tubes.

  1. Croatian cream “D – Panthenol”, price from 160 rubles;
  2. "Korneregel" – German healing cream, price from 400 rubles, used in ophthalmology;
  3. "Pantoderm" - ointment Russian production, the cost of which is about 100 rubles. The main substance dexpanthenol is contained in the proportion of 50 mg per 1 g of ointment. It is used for bruises and wounds, as a means to relieve inflammation and fast healing affected area. Doctors prescribe it for psoriasis, skin dermatitis, burns, diaper rash and bedsores, allergic dry skin. During lactation you can treat with Pantoderm nipples. This will prevent cracks from appearing. Even if the cream gets into the baby’s mouth, nothing bad will happen;
  4. "Panthenol plus"– spray, the minimum price of which starts from 380 rubles.

The listed drugs contain 5% active substance. They are available in tubes of 25 and 50 g.

It is important to know: some of them are several times cheaper than Bepanten and can serve as a replacement.

Every buyer has the right to choose between a reasonable price and a big name.

Another alternative

There is a group of ointments based on zinc oxide.

They have similar properties and qualities to drugs based on dexpanthenol, and are a worthy alternative them. This:

  • cheap and time-tested " Zinc ointment", which relieves minor skin problems;
  • “Sudocrem” has a slight specific odor.

When choosing medicinal ointment or cream, you should focus on the indications for use, and not on the price of the drug.

What is the difference

The main substance in these drugs is the same. How then are these drugs different?

The differences lie in additional substances:

  1. "Bepanten" contains natural alcohols from sperm whale fat and natural oils. They soften the skin and give the cream a thick consistency. Lanolin softens the skin, almond oil saturates it with vitamin E. Propylene glycol is a non-toxic preservative solvent used in the food industry.
  2. "Panthenol", mainly consists of synthetic additional substances. Therefore, the price of the German product is higher, and it has a higher reputation.

Bepanten Plus additionally contains an antiseptic - chlorhexidine, and in addition to wound healing, it also has a disinfectant effect. Dexpanthenol is also included in other, less expensive drugs, many of which are almost complete analogues of Bepanten.

Bepanten and its analogues

There are many products on the market that promote healing of skin injuries. of various nature. Some of them also contain dexpanthenol as an active ingredient, and therefore are practically in no way inferior to Bepanten.

Below is a comparative table with prices for Bepanten and similar drugs.

Preparations based on dexpanthenol

Dexpanthenol, also known as provitamin B5, is metabolized into pantothenic acid, which is involved in the regulation of lipid synthesis and metabolism and fatty acids. Dexpanthenol is part of many cosmetics and medical preparations for the care of dry, flaky skin prone to cracks and irritation, increasing its firmness and elasticity and promoting the healing of various defects. In pharmacies, dexpanthenol is found under the following names:

  • Bepanten,
  • Pantoderm,
  • D-Panthenol,
  • Panthenol,
  • Dexpanthenol and others.

The difference between Dexpanthenol and Bepanten

Despite the fact that Bepanten and Dexpanthenol are based on the same active ingredient, their auxiliary components are different. As a formative component, Dexpanthenol contains white petroleum jelly and Vaseline oil, while Bepanten contains DL-pantolactone, phenoxyethanol and lanolin.

Dexpanthenol activates the processes of restoration and regeneration of the epithelium in case of damage such as abrasions, scratches, cuts, cracks, burns, abscesses, boils and trophic ulcers.

Dexpanthenol is also suitable as a care product for newborns, drying and protecting the skin and preventing the formation of prickly heat. Due to its low toxicity, Dexpanthenol can be freely used during pregnancy, as well as during lactation for cracked nipples.

Pantoderm

Activates the regeneration process and strengthens collagen fibers, ensuring skin strength and elasticity. In addition to dexpanthenol, the drug contains a moisturizing complex (vaseline, almond oil, wax) as auxiliary components. Pantoderm is used for minor injuries (domestic abrasions, cuts, surface cracks).

The low toxicity of dexpanthenol also allows the product to be used during breastfeeding and pregnancy, as well as for caring for the skin of newborns, as well as in the treatment and prevention of erythema. Due to the similarity of composition and lower price, Pantoderm is the most accessible analogue Bepanthena for children.

Panthenol

Effectively promotes healing of the skin and mucous membranes, can be used for minor injuries - abrasions, burns (thermal and solar), cracked nipples in women during lactation, allergic and atopic dermatitis.

Can also be used as prophylactic for the care of dry, irritated and cracked skin. Panthenol is quickly absorbed by the skin without leaving a greasy film, making it also suitable for treating non-infectious weeping wounds, such as diaper rash and bedsores.

Similar to products containing dexpanthenol, such drugs have the same reparative and metabolic effect, activating skin regeneration processes, and also dry out weeping wounds and promote their epithelization.

Solcoseryl

The drug is available in the form of a thick ointment, which, when applied, has a quick cooling effect and relieves irritation. When applied regularly, Solcoseryl accelerates the regeneration of damaged tissues and prevents the formation of large scars.

Indications for use are minor injuries, trophic ulcers, burns (for example, from boiling water), frostbite, gangrene, erythema. In such cases, it is recommended to apply semi-closed dressings. Solcoseryl also protects the epithelium on the surface of wounds during scarring.

Has an anti-inflammatory effect, relieves redness and irritation, eliminates itching. The drug is prescribed to adults and children (after three months) at the first manifestations atopic dermatitis(eczema). With prolonged and regular use prevents seasonal exacerbations or relapses of chronic dermatitis.

The cream is applied to affected areas of the body of any size, suitable for the treatment of diaper rash. However, please note that this drug is recommended to be used only if indicated after consulting a doctor. Due to its high price and specific area of application, Elidel is not a direct analogue of Bepanten, but is effective as an independent drug.

Drapolene

Due to benzalkonium chloride and cetrimide, the drug has an anti-inflammatory and antiseptic effect, promoting healing damaged skin. Drapolene is used in the treatment of diaper dermatitis in infants caused by prolonged exposure to wet diapers. For treatment and prevention, it is recommended to apply the drug after each bath to clean and dry skin.

Drapolene is also used as emergency assistance for minor skin damage such as abrasions, shallow cuts, small scratches, thermal burns etc. Please note that since surfactants reduce the activity this drug, it should be applied only to thoroughly washed and dry skin without traces of soap.
