Tea compresses for the eyes. Compresses for the eyes: types and how to apply compresses correctly. Herbal compresses for eyes

Since ancient times, people have known such a procedure that is beneficial for beauty and health as body lotions. Natives in the African jungle still apply herbs to the sore spot, grind the leaves into a pulp and apply it to bruises and bruises. This can also be considered a gadget, because useful material contained in plants penetrate the skin and have a beneficial effect on the skin and muscle tissue, producing a therapeutic effect.

Why are lotions needed?

The action of eye lotions is based on the same principle. The skin of the eyelids and under the eyes is very thin and delicate, it is devoid of fat and needs constant replenishment with moisture and nutrients using lotions. Of course, this procedure is very useful, it does not cause allergies and has virtually no side effects. It is especially valuable for those for whom steam baths are contraindicated.

It may be strange to hear this, but experts unanimously say that you need to start making eye lotions from the age of 20. After all, it is always easier to prevent skin aging processes than to deal with their consequences later. Starting to take care of your eyes early age, you can postpone the formation of such unwanted wrinkles and bags under the eyes for a long time and always remain attractive.

What are they?

Hot eye lotions

Lotions are considered hot if the temperature of the water or other lotion or product reaches temperature regime at 38-42 °C. This procedure leads to the expansion of blood vessels and skin pores, it increases blood flow to the upper layers of the skin, relaxes muscles, and also helps remove old skin cells.

The benefits of cold lotions

Cold eye lotions are applications using products at a temperature of 15-18 °C. This procedure tones the skin of the eyelids well. With its help you can improve your complexion, narrow blood vessels, shrink pores and reduce sweating. These lotions help prevent the formation of wrinkles and remove skin laxity.

Warm or variable

Variable eye lotions are made by changing the temperature from hot to cold and back again. They are also called contrasting. This procedure strengthens muscles, tones blood vessels, prevents wrinkles and prevents sagging skin around the eyes.

How to do it at home

In order to make lotions at home, the skin around the eyes needs to be cleaned of makeup. You can take a special lotion or prepare it from improvised means: a mixture of water and olive oil will do. Using a cotton swab soaked in lotion, remove makeup with careful movements so as not to stretch delicate skin. Now you can make lotions: in medicinal product moisten a gauze, linen or other linen napkin and apply it to the eye area.

Here are some important tips for making your eye lotions successful:

  • Hot lotions for the eyelids are used only when prescribed by a doctor. The best option the lotions will be at room temperature. For loose skin, cold compresses are ideal.
  • For achievement best result It’s good to put a small piece of parchment paper on the napkin, and a terry napkin or terry towel on top to warm the product.
  • An important nuance that can ruin the entire effect of the procedure: if outsiders are allowed during the compress, and even more so negative thoughts, then it may not work out at all. We need an absolute “switch off” from problems, complete relaxation and concentration on the effect you want to achieve. The face should be completely relaxed.
  • The compress does wonders and you will look gorgeous for one evening. However, if you do not repeat the procedure, the effect will not take hold and will not become permanent. It is better to make this procedure a habit.
  • To ensure complete relaxation, apply eye lotions while lying down. It is best to do this without a pillow, with a small cushion under the neck. By the way, eye lotions can be turned into a facial compress - to do this you just need to take a napkin bigger size.
  • Contrasting lotions are important to finish cold temperature. This will tighten blood vessels and pores, making the skin elastic and soft.

Lotions with herbs

The most useful lotions are made from infusions medicinal herbs. These products nourish the delicate skin around the eyes with vitamins, minerals, and also strengthen blood vessels. The most popular lotions are made from chamomile, mint, dill and parsley. Especially for pale skin, hawthorn, sage, linden blossom, and birch leaves are used.

About calendula for the eyes separately!

Separately, we can say about this excellent remedy like calendula. It is rich in essential oils, phytoncides, carotene, organic acids, resins, proteins and enzymes. This is a very good anti-inflammatory agent. Calendula eye lotions are one of the most effective means to prevent wrinkles and tired eyes.

Herbal lotions can be prepared as follows: 1 tbsp. pour 1 cup of boiling water over the herbs and leave for half an hour. Then cool until desired temperature and wet the napkin.

Tea eye lotions

It must be said that eye lotions are not necessarily gauze or cloth. Here, for example, is the method of preserving beauty that women of the Ancient East used. They put tea leaves into a cloth bag, dipped it in boiling water and let it swell well. Then they cooled slightly, distributed the tea leaves evenly throughout the bag and applied this device to the eyes. With these lotions, oriental beauties relieved puffiness under the eyes and relieved inflammation.

Using oil lotions

In addition to these products, there are also oil options. They use olive oil, fir oil, soybean oil and others. The result of oil lotions will be smoother, younger and healthy skin. These treatments are especially beneficial for eyes that frequently experience temperature changes.

For people with sensitive skin around the eyes, the most common option is dry lotions. Standard cosmetic procedures are often contraindicated for them. Dry lotion is “ layered cake"from a napkin and dry herbs. Place any herb inside a warm napkin and apply it to the eye area for 2-3 minutes. Such lotions are very good to do before masks and applying cream.

Recipes for bags under the eyes

The tea brew here is good. Soak cotton swabs in it or use tea bags, placing them under the eyes or completely over the eyes. closed eyes- there will be no harm. Swelling and bags will disappear, the skin will become more elastic.

How to remove dark circles

Soak cotton swabs in baby urine and apply to the bruised area. This excellent remedy traditional medicine very effective and gives quick result. Some people use their own urine. Keep the lotion for 10-15 minutes, then rinse cool water.

Lotions for swelling

Brew dried parsley, apply cotton wool soaked in the decoction or warm herb placed in gauze on your eyes, hold for 10 minutes. Then apply a special cream or gel to the skin of the eyelids.

For tired eyes

Cut two thin slices from a peeled potato and place them on your eyes. Relax and lie down for 5 minutes. Rinse off with cool water. The same can be done by cutting slices from a cucumber. It is better if the cucumber is cold. When the circles get hot, they need to be replaced with fresh ones. Keep for 15-20 minutes.

The second option for an unusual lotion if you are at work: you can simply wet your eyes cold water from the tap several times. Or put cold wipes over your eyes and sit back in a chair for a few minutes. The eyes rest and relax.

Compresses are the oldest cosmetic procedure. It suits any skin type. It is especially good to make compresses for the eyes and eyelids. The skin around the eyelids does not have a fat base and is in great need of additional moisture. In this case, compresses will help. Compresses do not cause allergies, redness or irritation of the skin. Cosmetologists recommend using compresses if steam baths are contraindicated.

There are many types of compresses. They are hot, warm, cold, contrasting.

Hot A compress is considered when its temperature reaches 38-42 °C. A hot compress causes dilation of blood vessels and pores, increases blood flow to the skin, warms it, relaxes muscles, and helps remove dust and dead cells.

Cold compress(15-18 °C) is an excellent tonic for the skin. It improves complexion, constricts blood vessels, shrinks pores, and reduces sweating.

Well tones the skin contrasting or variable warm and cold compresses. They strengthen muscles and blood vessels. Good for preventing wrinkles or sagging skin.

How are compresses applied? Pre-clean the skin around the eyelids of makeup. For this purpose, you can use special eye lotions. Soak a swab in the lotion and remove makeup using a downward motion. You can use one of the lotions according to the recipes above. If you don’t have lotion on hand and don’t have time to prepare it, mix water, castor oil and olive oil and use this mixture to remove makeup. Now prepare a small linen or gauze napkin and soak it in a decoction of medicinal herbs.

Cosmetologists do not recommend using hot compresses on the eyelids. It is best to use compresses at room temperature. If you have loose skin, cold compresses will do the trick. To achieve the best results from the compress, place a small piece of parchment paper on the soaked cloth. Now cover with a terry cloth or terry towel to keep warm. All this needs to be prepared in advance so as not to have to look for it at the last minute.

One more no less important advice. When performing any procedure, forget about all your worries for a while and completely peace of mind relax your facial muscles. The results of the compress will be noticeable within ten minutes. There is, however, a “but” here: tissue elasticity returns in no more than twelve hours. However, for one evening this procedure works wonders.

To relax as much as possible, it is recommended to do compresses while lying down. Borrow comfortable position, place a small flat cushion under your head. If you decide to apply a compress not only to the eye area, then you need to use a larger cloth to cover the entire face. At the same time, do not forget to make slits for the nostrils and for the mouth. The compress is usually kept for 2-3 minutes. During this time the skin will feel warm. Now apply a cloth soaked in cold water to your skin. In addition to the fact that such a compress will moisturize the skin, it will also give it a feeling of freshness and lightness. After the cold compress, apply a warm one again and do this several times.

The procedure resembles cold and hot shower. Always finish with a cold cloth or gauze. Cold water will tighten blood vessels and pores. After the compress, the skin will become much softer and more elastic.

It is most useful to make compresses from herbal infusions. They strengthen muscles and blood vessels. The infusion is prepared as follows. Take a tablespoon of any herb and pour a glass of boiling water over it, then let it brew for 30 minutes. Herbs that are used for masks and lotions are suitable for eye lotions: chamomile, mint, dill, parsley. Pale skin will benefit from lotions made from hawthorn, sage, linden color, birch leaves.

It is good to make eye lotions from calendula. Calendula is used as an external remedy for various cosmetic skin imperfections. Her wide application due to the fact that the flowers of this plant contain a unique set of essential oils, phytoncides, carotene, organic acids, resins, proteins, and enzymes. It has been established that calendula preparations have a calming effect on nervous system, cause the death of pathogenic organisms. Compresses made from a warm decoction of calendula are used to prevent the formation of wrinkles.

"It is most useful to make compresses from infusions medicinal herbs. They strengthen muscles and blood vessels. "

Here is another old and very simple recipe. It was widely used by women Ancient East. Place some dry tea in several small cloth or gauze bags. Then put them in boiling water so that the tea swells well. After this, remove the bags, shake lightly and place on your eyes. These lotions not only relieve puffiness and bags under the eyes, but are also a good anti-inflammatory agent.

Compresses can be made not only from herbal decoctions, but also oil ones. Olive, fir, soybean and other oils are suitable for such compresses. Oil compresses are beneficial for the eyes because they have good impact to areas that are exposed to temperature changes. Under the influence of a compress of oils, the skin of the eyelids will smooth out and look more youthful and smooth.

Compresses are not only wet, but also dry. Dry compresses are recommended for those whose skin is very sensitive to various cosmetic procedures. For a dry compress, use a linen or cotton napkin or gauze. A dry compress involves warming the skin for two to three minutes using several layers of cloth or cotton wool and dry herbs. These compresses are very effective before applying masks, creams, and emulsions.

Hello, dear readers!

Large and bright eyes They can make any woman a beauty, but dull and swollen ones will negate all efforts to look beautiful.

I knew what compresses could be made for the eyes, many people know them, but recently I read that a tea compress on the eyes should be done every day! This will protect your face from premature wrinkles and make your eyes clear and clean. And we always have tea, so we can’t help but take advantage of this advice.

I want to remind you how and what to make eye compresses for swelling and bruising, fatigue, and tears. I took all these recommendations from experts from various printed publications.

Bags under the eyes - causes and how to remove them

It is clear that bruises and swelling do not form just like that, there is a reason for everything.

Often these are some internal diseases: So, dark circles under the eyes - the liver may be out of order, bags under the eyes - kidneys or heart disease.

Swelling and redness of the eyelids can be caused by allergic reactions, eye diseases, injuries to both the eye and head, insect bites, infectious diseases, nervous disorders.

Here it is necessary to treat the disease directly. And compresses, even if they help relieve unpleasant painful sensations, but only temporarily. And such help can be deceptive; if you neglect the treatment prescribed by the doctor, you can worsen the situation and even worsen your vision.

There are also external factors leading to edema.

Such reasons include:

  1. Excessive fluid intake before bedtime, alcoholic drinks, salted and smoked food.
  2. Lack of fluid in the body is also harmful: it leads to dry eyes and the appearance of dark circles under the eyes.
  3. When we cry, our eyes swell in the morning, as during crying there is a rush of fluid to the eyelids.
  4. Lack of sleep, insomnia.
  5. Overstrain and eye fatigue when spending long periods of time at the computer.
  6. Smoking.
  7. Using low-quality cosmetics.
  8. Untimely removal of eye makeup.
  9. Misuse cosmetics, in which the eyelids become oversaturated with moisture.
  10. Age-related changes.

In these cases, it is quite possible to try to get rid of them at home.

How to remove bags under the eyes

If you wake up in the morning with swelling, then in order to remove it, you need to carry out a series of procedures.

  1. Perform alternating washing with cold and hot water, due to which blood and lymph circulation will increase and congestion will be eliminated.
  2. Then you can apply compresses to the eyes. They will relieve swelling and inflammation, and also give the skin elasticity and firmness.
  3. Afterwards, you definitely need to do a small eyelid massage - light tapping with your fingertips around the eyes.
  4. Finally, apply eye cream under your eyes.

To remove unpleasant symptoms If your eyes are tired in the evening, you need to remove your makeup and follow steps 2-4.

Compresses for the eyes: what and how to make them

What exactly is a compress? It's dipped in healing infusions cotton pads or cloth that are placed on the eyelids. The liquid penetrates the skin and exerts its therapeutic effect. It is also possible to apply compresses from a thick, finely ground mass of any product in gauze bags or apply coarsely chopped products directly to the eyelids.

And although it is allowed to use different ways When making compresses, you must keep in mind that fast does not mean better. Those lotions that require some effort and time to prepare are more effective and faster in helping to get rid of puffiness and other problems under the eyes. Here, for example, is the same popular cucumber: you can put a circle cut from it, or better yet finely chop it, since there will be more juice released from the resulting pulp, which means more medicinal substances will penetrate the skin.

What folk remedies are used for compresses:

  • milk
  • potato
  • cucumber
  • apple
  • parsley
  • sea salt
  • herbs (chamomile, calendula, linden blossom).

Compresses can be either cold or warm. A cold compress on the eyes (its temperature is from 18 to 22 degrees, i.e. room temperature) is used for swelling and bruising. Warm (up to 38-40 degrees) – mainly for inflammation and dry eyes.

Hot lotions are not used at all, except in exceptional cases in contrast compresses.

How to make a compress on the eye

Naturally, we washed our face and took off our makeup. Take cotton pads, soak them in the prepared solution and squeeze them lightly.

Place the discs on closed eyes and hold for 10-15 minutes. In this case, it is advisable to lie down on the sofa, put a low pillow under your head and relax. You can cover your face with a thin towel or napkin.

After removing the discs, just wash with cool water.

Compresses in gauze bags are usually placed on the lower eyelids.

Compresses for swelling, bags, bruises and dark circles under the eyes

Puffiness of the eyelids, bags, dark circles under the eyes cannot be hidden even by the best decorative cosmetics.

Compresses and lotions made from a variety of products will help get rid of these troubles.

In addition to treating eye swelling, it is also useful to do light exercises:

  1. Open and close your eyes wide several times.
  2. Turn your gaze to the sides.
  3. Look into the distance and then at the tip of your nose.

Tea compress

First, prepare linden tea, cornflower tea, or regular green or black tea. In principle, all types of tea are suitable, they all normalize blood circulation, have antiseptic, soothing and anti-inflammatory properties. But the most effective compress is made from green tea for the eyes or white tea, large-leaf tea without any additives or flavorings.

Making tea in the usual way(2 tsp dry tea leaves per 250 ml boiling water), leave for 5 minutes, cool.

Wash your eyes with this infusion.

Then soak cotton swabs in a cold infusion of herbs or tea, squeeze lightly so that the liquid does not flow, and place on your eyes for a few minutes.

Cold reduces blood flow to the eyelids and slightly constricts blood vessels. The caffeine contained in tea tones the skin of the eyelids. Therefore, such a cold compress on the eyes from tea can relieve puffiness under the eyes and tighten the skin.

A tea compress on the eyes can be done in another way. Sew from soft fabric or gauze bags the size of the eye socket, pour a little tea (dry) into them, and then lower the bags into a cup of boiling water for 10 minutes.

While the tea bags are warm (but not hot, be careful!), place them on your eyelids.

Like this warm compress on the eyes from tea and needs to be done every day, as I wrote about above. This is a very refreshing compress, with regular use there will be no swelling or fine wrinkles, it relieves inflammation, removes redness and pain in the eyes.

Potato compress

Potatoes are great for removing swelling. Potatoes are generally a storehouse of beneficial properties; they are used to treat many ailments.

It improves skin color, accelerates the regeneration process, relieves irritation, redness, dry skin, and smoothes out fine wrinkles.

And to relieve puffiness of the eyes, you just need to cut raw potatoes into thin slices directly in the peel (after washing them first, of course) and apply the circles to your eyes for 30 minutes.

You can use boiled potatoes. Once cooled to a comfortable temperature, cut the tuber into two halves and apply it to your eyelids for 20 minutes.

Better yet, wrap raw grated potatoes in gauze and apply under your eyes for 15 minutes. You can also mix potatoes with grated white cabbage.

Milk

Milk compresses also help remove swelling. They must be placed cold. As soon as the cotton pads become warm, they are replaced with new ones soaked in cold milk.

Salt compress

Use sea salt. A teaspoon of it is dissolved in 150 ml. warm boiled water. Discs soaked in a saline solution are applied only to the lower eyelids very carefully so that salty water did not penetrate the eyes.

Aloe compress

Rejuvenates, moisturizes, nourishes the skin, improves blood circulation and helps remove fluid under the eyelids.

Wrap a cut aloe leaf older than 3 years in gauze and place it in the refrigerator; when kept in the cold, biological stimulants are produced. After two weeks, squeeze the juice out of the aloe and soak cotton pads in it. Keep them on the eyelid for 10 minutes.

Compresses for sore eyes

If you don't get enough sleep, your eyes often become inflamed. To help with this situation, you can make a warm compress of chamomile for the eyes, tea or parsley.

Parsley compresses

Parsley is the most effective folk remedy and for inflammation and swelling under the eyes. And not only folk, now they also produce eye cream with parsley, I use it and I like it.

Parsley chopped in a blender is simply applied to the eyelids for 15-20 minutes.

Or another way: a teaspoon of parsley gruel is mixed with 2 tsp. sour cream. Apply a thick layer under the eyes, cover with damp cotton pads. After 15 minutes, wash off with water.

You can also prepare an infusion: pour 1 tablespoon of chopped leaves into 250 ml of boiling water, leave for 20 minutes, then strain. Or finely chop the parsley, pour it into a bag and put it in boiling water. A chamomile compress is prepared in the same way.

Apply discs soaked in the infusion to your eyes for 15 minutes.

Apple

But I only recently learned about relieving eye inflammation with an apple. A compress on the eyes is made from apple juice or grate an apple on a fine grater and apply the mixture to the eyes for 10-15 minutes.

You can also grate potatoes and apply them to your eyelids.

It is also good to make eye masks from potatoes with the addition of flour and milk (take 2 teaspoons in total).

Tea bag compress

For inflammation of the eyelids, warm compresses from tea bags are ideal (if you don’t have loose leaf tea on hand or have time to brew). Tea can also relieve pain.

The bags are immersed in boiling water for 10 minutes, then squeezed out.

A warm, but not hot, bag is placed on the eyelids for a few minutes. You cannot let the bag cool so that it does not turn cold. Every three minutes it must be immersed in very warm water.

Eye compress against tears and stress

It’s true, it happens that we cry at some point. stressful situations. I can cry even when watching a heart-warming movie.

Sometimes it’s good to cry, but only then you can’t appear in public.

And if you do the right thing, never rub your eyes, but make a compress, then the problem can be avoided.

Contrasting eye compresses from ordinary water. First we wet the cotton in warm water and apply a warm compress on the eyes for 3-5 minutes, for the next 5 minutes - a cold compress on the eyes. This procedure must be done 6-7 times.
