How to drink oatmeal broth correctly. Kvass from oats. Beneficial features. Oats for cleansing the body: recipes, reviews

Oats It has been used for centuries to treat various diseases, lose weight, cleanse the body, and heal the liver. In folk medicine, the medicinal properties of decoction, infusion, and kvass of oats are used for fatigue, insomnia, and to improve the general condition of the body.

Oats and its beneficial properties

Oatmeal is especially useful for weakened people who have suffered a serious illness. This porridge helps to quickly restore strength.

Oat soup is considered no less useful, which is useful for giving to children with urinary problems. The same soup helps restore strength after such a serious illness as tuberculosis.

For the same purpose (to restore strength after a serious illness), a decoction of oats sweetened with honey also helps. Oat decoction has a diuretic property, helps normalize metabolic processes, improves the functioning of the heart muscle and nervous system.

Oats help relieve pain from urolithiasis. For this purpose, a decoction of straw was prepared and applied as a compress to the kidney area. Such compresses not only reduce pain, but also promote painless and gentle removal of kidney stones.

Dishes made from oats are used in dietary medical nutrition, since oats help remove excess cholesterol from the body and blood. Oats contain special substances and fiber involved in this process.

Oat dishes are also beneficial for people suffering from high blood pressure.

An oat diet is prescribed to people with fractures or metabolic disorders in the bones, since oats contain a sufficient amount of substances such as calcium, phosphorus, etc.

Oats contain a substance called magnesium. Magnesium is a very necessary substance for the body; without it, normal functioning of the heart muscle is impossible. But besides this, magnesium is also very necessary for the liver, as it stimulates the secretion of bile. Therefore, oats are used for liver diseases and, in particular, for cholecystitis.

Magnesium is also unique in that it prevents the formation of blood clots and helps cleanse blood vessels, so oats must be included in the diet of patients suffering from atherosclerosis, coronary artery disease, hypertension, and thrombophlebitis.

People who have had heart surgery should definitely include oat dishes.

In the process of preparing oatmeal in water, a protein-starch mucous mass is formed, which has unique healing properties. Such a mass, entering the stomach, does not irritate its walls; on the contrary, it envelops the walls of the stomach, protecting it from the harmful effects of harmful substances that also enter the body.

The value of this mucus also lies in the fact that, enveloping the walls of the stomach, it does not allow harmful substances into the body, but at the same time, the oatmeal itself is easily absorbed by the body.

Studies have found that oatmeal helps remove salts from the body. heavy metals For example, one of these metals is lead, which is very difficult for the body to get rid of.

Oatmeal dishes are also beneficial for older people who often suffer from heart disease. Joints, liver, pancreas, etc.

Today, among many diseases, constipation is the scourge. Oatmeal mucus helps to easily cope with this trouble. Moreover, it normalizes intestinal function both in case of constipation and diarrhea.

There are serious stomach diseases in which almost everything is prohibited from eating. Such diseases include peptic ulcers of the stomach and duodenum, gastritis with high acidity, colitis, pancreatitis, etc. So, for these diseases, dishes and medicines made from oats are simply irreplaceable.

The rejuvenating properties of oats should not be overlooked. For example, this cereal contains a high silicon content. And silicon is involved in the production of collagen, thanks to which the skin remains young, elastic and toned.

In addition, silicon retains water in cells, preventing dehydration. Lack of water in skin cells leads to rapid withering, it becomes dry and flabby.

Silicon is also involved in many other processes. Thanks to silicon, the body easily absorbs elements such as calcium, iron, phosphorus and others.

If you want to lose excess weight, then oatmeal will become indispensable in this regard. After all, it is silicon that is responsible for fat metabolism. Without this substance, the breakdown of adipose tissue is impossible.

Unfortunately, it is simply impossible to list all the beneficial and medicinal properties of oats in one article. But to be brief, oats help cope with many diseases.

The first contraindication is intolerance to the product. Although rare, it does happen. The same goes for allergies.

Despite the fact that oats are so beneficial for the body, you should not consume them in unlimited quantities. The rules must be followed everywhere. Avoid excessive consumption of this drink.

And of course, monitor your condition. During treatment, listen to your body. If something goes wrong and you feel worse, it is better to stop eating oats.

Well, that’s all I wanted to tell you about oats, what their benefits are, what healing properties they have on the body. As you can see, this is a unique and invaluable product that must be present on your table, even if not in the form of infusions or decoctions, but definitely in the form of porridges.

This was in the 90s of the last century. After working in the capital, I returned home to my family. Then something incomprehensible happened - I began to feel that my strength was leaving me. Every day the condition worsened: it seemed that it was not an illness that had happened, but life was gradually leaving me. My friends Lyudmila and Galina literally led me, exhausted, by the arms, to receive unction. I tell my father:

- Father, I drank chicken broth during Lent, I didn’t even have the strength to walk around the house.

-Have you seen the horse? - the father asks in response. I was stumped by this question. “What does the horse have to do with it,” I think. And he seems to answer my thoughts:

- The horse is stronger than you, even though he has never eaten chicken soup in his life. Steam some oats and drink for three weeks. You will see that with God's help everything will get better.

And so it happened. With God's blessing and father's advice.

From a letter from reader Veronika Ivanovna Zasadskaya

Today I want to talk about a medicine that is not very expensive in terms of money, but effective - oats It's not just the crisis that forces people to look for alternative treatment options. The desire to get closer to nature and reduce the amount of “chemicals” entering the body are powerful motivators for finding really good natural remedies.

Oats- cultivated cereal. It is the chemical composition that explains the unique restorative effect of oats.

Oats contain a lot of protein, as well as fats and carbohydrates, valuable methionine, polyphenols, and choline. A large number of microelements - potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, calcium, zinc, cobalt, manganese, B vitamins (B1, B2), vitamin A, vitamin E, PP.

Eating oatmeal for breakfast is quite common in many countries. Perhaps the morning meal of oatmeal is associated mainly with Britain. Seeing how rich oats are in essential nutrients, I want to adopt this wonderful tradition.

Medicinal properties of oats

In folk medicine, oatmeal in the form of a decoction has long been used to treat the depletion of the body and any serious illnesses.
Oats have exceptional properties to cleanse the body of toxins, so it helps well in the complex fight against eczema, psoriasis, and diathesis (if there is no allergy to gluten, which sometimes happens in infants). Helps cope with obesity by adjusting metabolism.

Oat decoctions gently coat the mucous membranes of the gastrointestinal tract, relieve inflammation, while saturating the body with vitamins and minerals. The latter help to activate vitality, get rid of fatigue, weakness, and exhaustion.

The complex of vitamins and microelements contained in oats allows the oat decoction to cope with neuroses, insomnia, and resist stress. Just think, oats are successfully used even for cerebral palsy, because it contains choline, improves muscle function, and relieves the child’s painful conditions.

Oat straw is included in numerous preparations for the treatment of diabetes. Oats help with dysfunction of the liver, kidneys, pancreas, with anemia (anemia), with mental and physical fatigue.

Oats protect the liver, restore its cells, promote the formation of healthy high-density cholesterol (a building material for the body) and reduce the content of low-density bad cholesterol, which forms atherosclerotic plaques in blood vessels - i.e. oats even treat atherosclerosis.

Oats have a very positive effect on the urinary system: tincture of green oat grass dissolves and removes sand and small stones from the kidneys.

Oats treat bronchopulmonary diseases: they have an expectorant, mild antitussive and tonic effect. Unripe oats increase potency and increase the content of testosterone in the body - the male sex hormone. Oat products have invaluable properties in dietary nutrition.

For them, oats were both food and medicine.

Although this type of weight loss with oats is a “mono-diet,” i.e., only oat products are present in the diet, this should not cause concern, because oats contain all the substances necessary for the body and the calorie content of oats is high enough to prevent the body from reaching exhaustion, it’s not for nothing that horses are fed pure oats for endurance.

Sprouted oat grains

However, according to nutritionists, the greatest benefit of oats is in sprouted form. All the strength of the grain is concentrated in young green seedlings, moving from the “dormant mode” to the active phase.

At the moment of germination, all essential amino acids and vitamins are formed, especially vitamin E, which is also called the vitamin of youth, as well as the saturation of the sprouts with silicon, which strengthens the walls of blood vessels and makes our hair silky. You can read about how to germinate and consume grains here.

To prepare decoctions and sprout, of course, you need to choose high-quality, environmentally friendly grains. You can find these in pharmacies, on supermarket shelves in health food departments, and in specialized stores.

When washing the grains, fill them with water and select those that float on the surface; they probably will not be of any use.

Contraindications to the use of oat decoction

There are no contraindications to treatment with oat decoction as such. It can be used during pregnancy and children. Individual intolerance is possible. If you have gallstones, it is advisable to consult a doctor.

This is not all that oat decoction can give our body. Traditional medicine is rich in recipes that use this remedy.

How to steam oats in a thermos correctly?

If you find it difficult to cook or simmer grain for a long time, try steaming it in a thermos.

  1. Place a glass of cereal in a thermos and pour a liter of boiling water.
  2. Leave overnight, and in the morning drain and strain.
  3. Squeeze the grains: a lot of healing liquid remains in them.

This drink will be no less useful than the previous ones. The difficulty of cooking is that it is then very difficult to remove the oat grains from the thermos: they swell and take up most of the space in the container.

And just in case, here’s a video on how to properly make an oat decoction in a thermos:

Enrich with vitamins

The drink can be made even more useful. Do you know how? Oatmeal infusion can be infused with medicinal herbs or fruits:

  • rosehip infusion will be useful to strengthen the immune system;
  • to combat alcoholism, you can infuse calendula or St. John's wort;

Dr. Izotov's oat jelly. Recipe. Beneficial features. Oat cleanse

How is this oat jelly useful? For what diseases can and should it be used?

It will help with diseases of the liver, gall bladder, cardiovascular system, gastrointestinal tract, diabetes and hypertension. It is also known as “Doctor Izotov’s jelly”, and the basis for the recipe was the ancient recipes of our ancestors, monastery recipes and even recipes from the Soviet book “Domostroy”. Preparing it is not entirely easy, but the result from using oatmeal jelly is worth any effort.

Doctor Izotov's jelly. Recipe

  1. Pour 500 g of oatmeal (“Hercules”) and another 300 g of oat grains ground in a coffee grinder into a three-liter jar. Pour in all 400 ml of kefir or sour milk, the main thing is that the product is as natural as possible, since it will serve as a source of lactic acid bacteria for our jelly. Pour in another 1-1.5 liters of warm water (room temperature to activate the future fermentation process). The liquid in the jar should not reach the very top, but so that there should be about 5 centimeters along the walls of the jar to the neck. Gently mix everything in the jar with a wooden spoon or spatula and close tightly with a regular lid. Next, cover the jar with a towel and place it in a dark and warm place for 2 days.
  2. After 2 days, strain the mixture, separating it into liquid and grounds using a regular colander. Pour the liquid that was drained first (filtrate) into one jar (about 2 liters). We wash the remaining grounds with water, and do not pour out the water that drains during washing, but also pour it into a jar, this will be a filtrate of lower acidity. It will yield approximately 800 ml. We leave the filtrate to infuse in the jars for 16 hours.
  3. After the allotted time, we will find that the filtrate has separated. A thick suspension has formed at the bottom, which will serve as the basis for oatmeal jelly. The upper, more transparent part is the same oat kvass, which is fashionable to use immediately or to make, for example, okroshka based on it.
  4. Place the concentrate obtained and separated from the kvass into a glass jar and store it closed in the refrigerator for up to 21 days.
  5. Now, in fact, we prepare the jelly itself. To do this, take 1 tablespoon of concentrate and stir in a glass of water. Let it boil over low heat, stirring well, and cook for about 5 minutes. Then you can add honey, dried fruits and jam to the jelly - to your taste and discretion. Such a nutritious and healthy breakfast will give you strength, fill you up and improve your health. You don’t need to eat anything after it for 3-4 hours, and you won’t even want to. This portion is enough per day - 200 ml, the course is one month, then a break for 3 weeks and you can repeat the course if necessary and desired.

As you can see, oats, the beneficial properties of which are useful for the kidneys, gastrointestinal tract, and liver, can be taken in different forms. The main thing is to still try this method of dealing with existing problems.

Sprouted oats. Beneficial features

The greatest benefit of oats is in its sprouted form. I blog a lot about sprouted grains. It is in the sprouts of cereals that all the power is found. Moreover, do not germinate anything for a long time. The most valuable sprouts are 2-3 mm. And even less.

The sprout is the most active phase of the grain, in which all its beneficial substances are concentrated. But besides this, the protein sprouted from grains, including oats, is broken down during the germination period, forming amino acids, which are very useful for us and are building materials. For those who have problems with blood vessels, this is simply an irreplaceable remedy. Sprouted grains contain silicon, which strengthens the walls of blood vessels.

On the blog I wrote about how to germinate sprouted wheat. The germination process itself is described in great detail. And there are also recipes with sprouted wheat. You can do the same with oat grains using the same recommendations.

I want to tell you once again how to distinguish high-quality cereals; can any cereals that you bought in a store be germinated? Just fill them with water and see. Anything that floats to the surface must be thrown away. I'm sure there won't be many such grains. We buy a lot of everything for germination, however, a few grains float. If there are few such grains, then the grain is suitable for sprouting and will be good for health.

I would like to point out that you still need to try to ensure that sprouted oats retain their beneficial properties. To do this, it is necessary that the grains do not come into contact with metal, and the oxidation process does not begin - try, if possible, not to grind them in a coffee grinder or meat grinder. It is better to eat them as is, bringing maximum benefit to your body.

I also suggest watching the video for those who don’t quite understand the process of germinating oats.

Sprouted oats. Contraindications

Exacerbations of gastrointestinal diseases for those who are allergic to gluten.

Hulless oats

A distinctive feature of this type of cereal crop is the complete absence of a flower film. Because of this, oat grains of this type weigh less (1000 grains - up to 25 grams), although their density is higher than that of filmy varieties.

Hulled oats are of great nutritional value because they contain significantly more proteins, fats and starches. It is especially valuable when sprouting - the activity of amino acids in its sprouts is much higher and they act as a natural energy drink, removing gray hair and giving vigor to the human body.

What are the benefits of oats for the body?

Oats are revered in many countries around the world. It consists of 60% starch, so when it swells and cooks it turns into a viscous porridge, which is characterized by an enveloping and soothing effect.

Oats contain a large amount of protein (up to 18%), which is as close in composition as muscle protein. Oat grains are credited with a high fiber content (up to 32%), and oats are considered an effective dietary supplement. Fiber has no calories, does not break down in the large intestine, but is converted into polysaccharides that feed beneficial microflora. In addition, fiber cleanses the intestinal walls like a scrub, gently removing adherent, undecomposed food particles. One of the components of polysaccharides, beta-glucan, normalizes lipid metabolism, and also removes “bad” cholesterol and normalizes glucose levels.

Oats are included in the diet of people with atherosclerosis and diabetes. The content of all B vitamins strengthens the nervous system. Oat decoction has been used in medicine for 400 years! Hippocrates himself knew about its healing properties.

Oats, especially unpeeled ones, are beneficial for the whole body:

  • chronic gastritis and gastric ulcer
  • for pancreatitis and hepatitis
  • removes urine during bladder inflammation and pyelonephritis

Brewing oats in a saucepan on fire

This is an old way of brewing oats; it was used by grandmothers and great-grandmothers. Ideally, a Russian stove should be used instead of a stove. But in the absence of it, we will use what is in the apartment.

Fill one mug of washed oats with a liter of clean, chilled water in the refrigerator and give the grains time to swell. After boiling, turn the heat to minimum. Simmer the grains in water for another 20 minutes under the lid. Turn it off, remove the pan from the heat and wrap it in a towel and blanket. After a day, we unwrap it and pass the resulting “porridge” through a sieve so that the structure becomes homogeneous. Place 1 tbsp in the resulting “jelly”. spoon of honey and bring to a boil. Let it cool, squeeze out the juice of a medium-sized lemon, pour it into a clean container and put it in the refrigerator. Course of use: 2 weeks, a few spoons before meals in the morning and evening.

Another method has a similar recipe, but the end result is liquid. Perform the following manipulations:

  • pour 3 liters of clean water into the pan and add 3 tablespoons of oat grains
  • after boiling, reduce the heat
  • stirring, cook for as long as possible until the contents reach about a glass
  • cool what you get and puree it to a puree consistency
  • Take jelly, one tablespoon before meals, once a day for a month.

The third method is effective for hepatitis and gastritis:

  • pour half a liter of clean water into the pan
  • throw in 1/2 cup of oat grains
  • place the pan in the refrigerator for 12 days
  • after 12 days, boil
  • after boiling, simmer covered for 30 minutes
  • leave overnight, add another half liter of clean cold water the next morning
  • consume 2 tablespoons three times a day

Brewing oats in a thermos differs from the previous method in that the grains are not exposed to strong temperature effects.

The first method of preparing the decoction:

  • Grind a mug of oats in a coffee grinder to the consistency of crushed nuts
  • pour ground oats into a thermos with a liter of boiling water
  • close the thermos and do not open it overnight
  • the next morning you can eat brewed oats
  • use 2 tbsp three times a day. spoons

The second method has some nuances. At the end of the process, the broth should have a light brown tint. It indicates the correct adherence to technology.

  • let 2 tablespoons of oat grains brew in a liter of clean water
  • after the grains swell, bring to a boil
  • turn off the gas, cover the contents of the pan with a lid and leave for 5-10 minutes
  • Place the contents of the pan in a thermos and leave overnight
  • the resulting decoction is stored in the refrigerator, but is heated before use
  • take half a glass 3 times a day

The third method of brewing in a thermos is supplemented with other components: Pour a liter of boiling water into a glass of clean, washed oats. Cook over low heat for an hour, stirring constantly and not allowing it to boil. After an hour, add boiling water to the pan until you get the same amount of contents. Transfer the broth to a thermos and leave overnight.

To make the broth a homogeneous consistency, grind it using a sieve. Pour 1 tbsp into it. a spoonful of honey, squeeze the juice of half a lemon. Drink a glass a day half an hour before meals

Do not brew a lot of oat grains. It is best to do this at least once every 2-3 days to keep the broth fresh. And don’t forget to follow a diet and limit your smoking so that the liver stops working at maximum load and starts repairing itself.
