Calcium chloride mineral water name without gas. Mineral water Donat Mg: medicinal properties, method of use, reviews. Medicinal table mineral waters

Which normal amount mineral water consumed? For healthy person Professor A. S. Vishnevsky proposed a simple calculation based on body weight. For example, if a person weighs 100 kg, then the maximum single dose is 300 ml, that is, 3 ml per kilogram of weight is taken. This is not an axiom, not excluded various kinds variations.

How to choose mineral water.

To facilitate the choice of mineral water for treatment, we present a list of mineral waters, where, in addition to the name, the maximum possible information about the product will be presented. If you have a question about the composition and purpose of water, the site has a smart Google search and two simple site searches. By entering a question into them, for example:

  • Hydrocarbonate mineral waters.
  • Alkaline mineral waters.
  • Acidic mineral waters…

Or let’s say a question related to illness

  • Alkaline mineral water with pancreatitis.
  • Mineral water for urolithiasis.
  • Mineral water for gout. ...and other problems that interest you, then as a result of your request you will receive an answer that, I hope, will satisfy you.

pH value.

  • Strongly acidic (pH less than 3.5),
  • acidic (pH 3.5-5.5),
  • slightly acidic (pH 5.5-6.4),
  • neutral (pH 6.5-7.4),
  • slightly alkaline (pH 7.5-8.5),
  • alkaline (pH from 8.5 to 9.5)
  • pH>9.5 – highly alkaline water

Why is it important to know the pH of the water you drink? The shortest answer so as not to unbalance your body. Because the average pH of blood 7,4 , and the extreme values of 6.8 and 7.8 lead to fatal outcome. You must know what kind of water to drink so that your blood pH is in the range of 7.36 to 7.44. Also know that our entire body has an acidic environment on the outside to kill germs. The skin is sour, the mucous membranes of the mouth and nose are sour, the mucous membranes of the eyes are sour, the environment ears sour. By the way, that’s why soap is alkaline, so that there would be a reaction. It is believed that for recovery processes in the body, water must have either a neutral pH balance. Therefore, if you do not have health problems or do not want to harm it, you should drink natural table water with a neutral pH. And this is usually a spring, well, glacier (from the mountains), artesian without any prefixes, like a medical canteen. This is why highlanders live long, since water from glaciers has an average pH of 7

  • Mild forms of diabetes mellitus;
  • Violation of water-salt metabolism;
  • Gouty diathesis and gout.

Mode of application

During the rehabilitation of patients with irritable bowel syndrome, Lysogorskaya mineral water is prescribed as an intestinal stimulant. Hydrocarbonate ions contained in mineral water inhibit the AMP-dependent phosphorylation of glycolytic and lipolytic enzymes. As a result, the secretion of hydrochloric acid decreases. A deficiency of hydrogen ions inhibits the formation of pepsins, gastrin and secretin and enhances intestinal motility. Sulfate ions in the intestine are practically not absorbed, but increase its motor function, having a laxative effect. Calcium and magnesium ions enhance the contractile function of the smooth muscle elements of the intestinal walls and restore its motor activity. Naphthenes, humins, bitumens and phenols are quickly absorbed into the blood in the stomach and upper parts of the small intestine, activate the intestinal microflora and promote the production of antibacterial and biologically active components.

  • For intestinal diseases with constipation, take mineral water 3 times a day, 250 ml 45 minutes before meals and at night (about 2 bottles a day). Water temperature is 18-24 degrees Celsius.
  • The same goes for obesity. And limited intake of other liquids and table salt.
  • In case of metabolic disorders, take it in the same regimen as for intestinal diseases.
  • For liver and biliary diseases, take 150 ml of mineral water in the same regimen. When drinking bottled water, degassing is done in a water bath at t – 40 degrees Celsius.
  • When drinking bottled water, degassing is done in a water bath at a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius. If impossible, use mechanical degassing or natural means, i.e. just leave the bottle open. Avoid using metal cutlery for stirring.

"Malkinskaya-1"

Healing water. Malkinskaya is the most important water of Kamchatka. At a depth of 610 m, an underground river flows in a layer of chalk rocks, which are over 100 million years old. The famous water is obtained from this river. Carbonation uses gas that is released from mineral water during its extraction. That is, we drink exactly the water that comes out of the well.

Malkinskaya is close in properties to Borjomi water - chloride-hydro-carbonate-sodium medicinal water with a mineralization of 4.4 g/l.

They are used for treatment and prevention if there are no exacerbations of the following diseases.

  • Chronic diseases gastritis with decreased and increased secretory function of the stomach, and
  • urinary tract.
  • Colitis,
  • uric acid diathesis,
  • oxaluria.
  • Sugar diabetes,
  • obesity.
  • Phosphaturia,
  • pancreatitis.

It is not recommended for diseases in the acute period, as well as for complications - blockage of the bile ducts and purulent processes in the bile ducts requiring hospital treatment or surgical intervention, motor insufficiency of the stomach with a tendency to bleeding, suspicion of cancerous degeneration, narrowing of the esophagus or pylorus, sudden prolapse of the stomach, ulcerative processes in the intestines, bleeding hemorrhoids, decompensation of cardiac activity in obesity, a tendency to acidosis in diabetes. It is also not justified to ingest alkaline mineral waters when the urine is alkaline in order to avoid aggravating the disturbance of acid-base balance in the body (to Professor N.A. Gavrikov).

It is also recommended to wipe the skin with this water, especially for fashionistas who often use cosmetics. If you heat it slightly and release the gas, you can rinse your nose for a runny nose and or gargle for a sore throat (+ a few drops of lemon juice)

A special feature is the microelement content - SELENIUM A. Silene is a strong antioxidant, which means it rejuvenates the body, treats cardiovascular diseases, and prevents cancer.

The difference in magnesium in Nabeglavi is 3 times greater than in Borjomi, and chlorine is 3 times less, the level of sulfates exceeds the degree of sulfate ions in the Borjomi source.

drink 2 times every 7 days, drink 1 glass.

Nagutskaya-26.

Narzan.

A special feature is that with a relatively low mineralization of 2.0-3.0 g/l, the composition contains more than 20 minerals and trace elements, which does not change for a long time.

“Narzan” is a medicinal table sulfate-hydrocarbonate sodium-magnesium-calcium natural drinking mineral water. Due to its properties, “Narzan” stimulates the secretion of hydrochloric acid by the parietal cells of the stomach, because of this it helps those with low stomach acidity.

Indications for the treatment of the following diseases.

  • irritable bowel syndrome
  • intestinal dyskinesia
  • chronic pancreatitis
  • postcholecystectomy syndrome
  • diabetes
  • obesity
  • chronic pyelonephritis
  • urolithiasis disease
  • chronic cystitis
  • chronic urethritis.

The main thing is about the methods of treatment with Narzan.

Mineral water "Narzan" stimulates the secretion of hydrochloric acid by the parietal cells of the stomach, therefore it is used as a remedy for diseases of the gastrointestinal tract with reduced secrecy (atrophic gastritis and others), its action is not very effective and does not last long. To stimulate secretion, Narzan is drunk warm 15–20 minutes before meals.

Treatment regimens for the rehabilitation of patients with chronic gastritis are determined by the peculiarities of the secretory and motor-evacuation functions of the stomach. Sodium Na + and potassium K + ions contained in Narzan mineral water increase the secretion of hydrochloric acid by activating the transport of sodium Na + ions through the apical membranes of parietal cells of the gastric mucosa. For hypokinetic type of motor function, a significant volume of fluid is prescribed (more than 5 ml/kg body weight). Taking Narzan at a temperature of 20–25 °C stimulates the secretion of hydrochloric acid and gastrointestinal peptides (especially gastrin), enhances gastric motility by increasing the tone of the pylorus, reducing duodenogastric reflux. It is recommended to drink Narzan 3 ml/kg body weight (75–100 ml), at a water temperature of 20–25°C, 15–20 minutes before meals in small sips, slowly, drink 3–4 times a day, repeat courses after 4–6 months

"Kuka Resort"

Natural medicinal table mineral water of group IV, hydrocarbonate magnesium-calcium, sodium-magnesium-calcium. Natural gas (it used to be, but now it’s not clear) is often called local Narzan.

Cook can help with the following diseases - urolithiasis, pyeloniphritis, chronic diseases of the liver and urinary tract, colitis, diabetes, as well as diseases of the stomach and duodenum. Drink water, depending on the acidity of gastric juice, 250 g 25-30 minutes before meals 3 times a day.

  • with low acidity 15-20 minutes before meals, heated to +15°C, +20°C;
  • At normal acidity, 30 minutes before meals, heated to +30°C;
  • In case of increased acidity, 45-60 minutes before meals, heated to +40°C, +50°C.

Please note that enterprises discharging water are required to comply with the requirements of the SES. This means that the water is treated with filters, etc. and some of the benefits do not reach the consumer. A simple way to determine whether water is ferrous or not was suggested by readers - if mineral water turns yellow after 2 or 3 days after opening, then this water is natural and contains iron. Therefore, if possible, collect water yourself, based on the following scientific information. The ferruginous waters of Transbaikalia are divided into two groups. The 1st-0th include waters; iron comes from the reduction of hydroxides with carbon dioxide formed during the oxidation of organic matter - the sources of the Ust-Selenginsk depression. These waters belong to loose Quaternary sediments, with a high content of organic matter. The amount of iron in water reaches 0.05-0.06 g/dm 3 . The waters are slightly alkaline (pH 6.0-6.8) with a mineralization of 0.5 g/dm3. The 2nd group includes waters enriched with iron as a result of sulfide oxidation (Daban-Gorkhon, Marakta springs). The anion composition of water depends on the composition of the host rocks. The iron content in hydrocarbonate waters is low and reaches 0.025-0.030 g/dm 3, in sulfate waters it can reach 0.1 g/dm 3. Water mineralization is up to 1.2 g/dm, and water pH ranges from strongly acidic (pH 4.0) to neutral and alkaline.
The most famous ferruginous springs: Khon-gor-Ulla (Kharagun river), Zhargalantai (Urika river basin) and Khandagai-Shuulun (Oka river basin), Ulan-Bulak Urulyunguevsky (Argun river basin), Verkhne-Zhuysky source located in the river valley. Chewing, lion. tributary of the river Chara.

Mineral water is one of the oldest natural medicines used by people. It contains many essential microelements. For centuries, hospitals existed near the sources of healing mineral waters, resorts and sanatoriums were created, and later bottling plants were built.

Today we can buy mineral water in a store, pharmacy, or kiosk. The choice is huge. What is its use? How to choose? How to drink correctly? How to avoid fakes?

Main characteristics of mineral drinking water

Mineral water is water formed deep in the earth's crust and is a product of complex natural geochemical processes. Mineral waters are characterized by a high salt content (mineralization), as well as either the presence of gases (carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide), or radioactivity, or the presence of particularly active ions (arsenic, iodine, iron), or a higher temperature.

As a rule, underground mineral waters do not contain pathogenic bacteria and do not require special purification.

Mineral water does not include water that is subjected to additional processing: softened, enriched, and passed through special filters. As a result of these manipulations, the chemical composition of water changes greatly. Artificially created mineral water, which is a solution of mineral salts with a composition similar to natural ones, is not considered mineral.

Such water does not correspond to water extracted from the bowels of the earth.

The most famous brands of mineral drinking water

Mineral waters, due to the degree of their mineralization and the content of a number of biologically active substances, are widely used for a number of chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, etc.

  1. "Borjomi". The source is located in Georgia, 140 km from Tbilisi, at an altitude of 800 m above sea level. The most famous and widespread carbonate bicarbonate-sodium water. Its mineralization is 5.5-7.5 g/l. belongs to the group of medicinal table waters. "Borjomi" is taken for gastritis with high acidity, peptic ulcers, liver diseases, urinary tract diseases, and metabolic disorders.
  2. "Narzan". Mineral water from two springs in the resort of Kislovodsk (North Caucasus). one of the most valuable medicinal table waters. Mineralization - 2-3 g/l. Water quenches thirst well and increases appetite. It contains carbon dioxide, so it enhances the secretory function of the digestive glands. A large amount of calcium bicarbonate gives it anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic effects. The salts contained, especially magnesium sulfate, sharply increase the evacuation function of the intestines. This water is recommended for diseases of the stomach and intestines, liver due to a decrease in their secretory function and tone, as well as for inflammation of the urinary tract.
  3. "Essentuki". Mineral waters obtained from the sources of the Essentuki resort (North Caucasus).
  4. “Essentuki No. 2” - medicinal table carbonated water, mineralization 3.1-6.1 g/l. Useful for chronic gastritis, colitis, liver and urinary tract diseases, metabolic disorders.
  5. Essentuki No. 4 - medicinal table mineral water (carbon dioxide bicarbonate-chloride-sodium). mineralization 8-10 g/l. Recommended for many diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (gastritis, intestinal sluggishness), diseases of the liver, gall bladder and urinary tract, has a beneficial effect on metabolism.
  6. Essentuki No. 17 - medicinal mineral water (carbon dioxide bicarbonate-chloride-sodium). Mineralization - 11-14 g/l. In composition and indications it is close to Essentuki No. 4. Prescribed for gastritis with low acidity, chronic cholecystitis and cholangitis, gout, and metabolic disorders.
  7. Essentuki No. 20 - drinking table carbonated water. Total mineralization - 0.65-1.35 g/l. Increases gastric secretion and improves metabolism. Recommended for chronic gastritis, peptic ulcers, chronic diseases of the liver, bile and urinary tract, pancreatitis, colitis.
  8. Slavic. The source is located on the eastern slope of Mount Zheleznaya in the Zheleznovodsk resort. Belongs to the group of medicinal table waters (carbon dioxide-hydrocarbonate-sulfate-sodium-calcium). Mineralization - 3-4 g/l. Useful for gastritis with high acidity, stomach ulcers, kidney diseases, urinary tract diseases, gynecological diseases, metabolic diseases.

These brands of mineral water are the most famous not only in our country, but also abroad. But they have their analogues among other Russian mineral waters. For example, “Shadrinskaya” is close to “Essentuki No. 4”, and “Nagurskaya No. 26” is close to “Borjomi”.

Currently, more than 800 items are registered in Russia. However, not all of them are mineral, and some of them are simply a solution of salts in ordinary drinking water.

In Pyatigorsk, at the All-Russian meeting to combat the spread of counterfeit mineral waters, it was said that every second bottle in the country is counterfeit. First of all, this concerns the medicinal and medicinal table waters of the Caucasus. Water obtained from a well retains its properties for only a few hours and can be bottled and hermetically packaged immediately after extraction.

A lot is illegally exported in tanks and bottled thousands of kilometers from the sources (whereas during the journey it has already lost its medicinal properties).

Many drinking purified waters obtained from wells in regions far from the actual sources are also sold as mineral waters.

How to choose mineral drinking water?

How to choose high-quality mineral water?

Water can deteriorate; in plastic it is stored for no more than 18 months, in glass - up to two years.

Pay attention to the bottle.

  1. The label should not be glued crookedly or askew; a self-respecting manufacturer will not stick it on haphazardly.
  2. The plug should not turn easily.
  3. The bottle must not be dented.
  4. A yellowish or greenish tint to the water is acceptable, as is sediment.

Before purchasing the right mineral water, you must carefully read the label.

The label must indicate:

  1. Trademark.
  2. Type - carbonated, non-carbonated.
  3. Information about mineralization.
  4. Source name and well number.
  5. Manufacturer's address.
  6. Where it was spilled, it’s good if it was spilled on the spot.
  7. Purpose - medical, dining room, medical dining room.
  8. Origin of water (mineral, glacial, artesian, spring).
  9. Chemical composition.
  10. Date of manufacture, expiration date.
  11. Documents according to which it is produced (GOST or TU), according to GOST - a tested well, studied water that can be consumed without fear. According to the specifications - ordinary water, new unexplored wells.

Now a little about plastic. Plastic bottles should not be left in the sun as they can release harmful substances. Always read the marks on the bottom of the package.

  1. The number 1 in the arrows means that this is a disposable bottle and should not be reused.
  2. 2 in arrows - afraid of hot water and detergents, also disposable.
  3. 7 or 8 in arrows - durable container for repeated use.
  4. 5 - durable material that can withstand high temperatures.

Table drinking water

Table water can be divided into 2 groups:

  1. The first category is extracted from wells, open reservoirs or from a water supply. Its only requirement is cleanliness.
  2. The highest category is more expensive. but more useful. it is not treated chemically and always contains mineral salts.

If you have heart, kidney or stomach diseases, you need to be careful with large amounts of mineral salts.

A few more important rules.

  1. Don't get carried away with distilled water. During processing, chemicals are used, for example. special resin. This substance removes hardness salts, calcium and magnesium salts and replaces them with sodium ions. Sodium blocks the removal of fluid from the body, blocks the work of the heart muscle and puts a serious burden on the kidneys.
  2. It is better to buy water in small bottles of 0.5 and 1 liter. Experts are sure that the water in large bottles is highly purified and diluted; it has often been noticed that the water in a small bottle from the same manufacturer is much better.
  3. The daily water intake is from 1.5 to 2 liters. You need to drink often. little by little. If you have fluid retention (swelling, dark circles under the eyes), then you should drink the bulk of water before 18.00.
  4. Drink water at room temperature.
  5. Boil no more than twice.

Conclusion: drinking mineral water is a healthy product, pay attention to the mineralization, if it is not higher than 1 g/l, then you can safely quench your thirst with it. But consume medicinal mineral waters strictly as prescribed by your doctor.

Best regards, Olga.

Magnesium(lat. magnesium) - chemical element, atomic number 12, alkaline earth element, metal. Designation - Mg. Magnesium plays a vital role in human physiology.

Magnesium and its compounds are included in many medications used in the treatment of the gastrointestinal tract. Antacids should be placed in first place in terms of frequency of their use, and osmotic laxatives in second place.

Basic functions and norms of magnesium consumption
According to Methodological Recommendations MP 2.3.1.2432-08 “Norms of physiological needs for energy and nutrients for various groups of the population of the Russian Federation”, approved by Rospotrebnadzor on December 18, 2008, magnesium is a cofactor of many enzymes, including energy metabolism, and is involved in protein synthesis , nucleic acids, has a stabilizing effect on membranes, is necessary to maintain the homeostasis of calcium, potassium and sodium. A lack of magnesium leads to hypomagnesemia, an increased risk of developing hypertension and heart disease. The average magnesium consumption in different countries is 210-350 mg/day, in the Russian Federation - 300 mg/day. Magnesium requirement levels are 200-500 mg/day. The upper acceptable level has not been established. The physiological need for magnesium for adults is 400 mg/day. The physiological need for children is from 55 to 400 mg/day.

The 2015–2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans (official publication of the US Department of Health) recommends the following daily intakes of magnesium:

  • children 1-3 years old - 80 mg, 4-8 years old - 130 mg, 9-13 years old - 240 mg
  • girls 14-18 years old - 360 mg, boys 14-18 years old - 410 mg
  • females 19-30 years old - 310 mg, over 30 years old - 320 mg
  • males 19-30 years old - 400 mg, over 30 years old - 420 mg
Magnesium deficiency in the body and means of compensating for it
Magnesium deficiency, accompanied by minor sleep disturbances, increased irritability, mild anxiety, increased fatigue, spasms of the calf muscles, can be compensated by taking medications, vitamin-mineral complexes, dietary supplements or mineral water with a high magnesium content.

Magnesium deficiency manifests itself in a variety of clinical symptoms and syndromes. Since the heterogeneity of the distribution of magnesium in the tissues of the body makes the determination of its content in serum or red blood cells less informative, magnesium deficiency can be suspected based on a combination of individual clinical signs of magnesium deficiency, especially if they affect different systems and are observed against the background of a significant provoking factor, such as alcohol abuse. A consequence of magnesium deficiency may be the development of atherosclerosis, arterial hypertension, tachycardia and various arrhythmias; with magnesium deficiency, the mortality rate in myocardial infarction increases; magnesium deficiency has been found in patients with mitral valve prolapse.

Most often, a rapidly developing lack of magnesium in the body leads to a state of increased nervous excitability of the cell. This is especially noticeable in muscle cells, in which depolarization is the main function. With magnesium deficiency, they experience impaired depolarization, which manifests itself in the redundancy of contraction processes in relation to relaxation processes. Clinically, these are muscle twitching and cramps, most often in the calf muscles, which is a common problem during pregnancy. Arrhythmia in pregnant women is also often associated with magnesium deficiency. For cardiomyocytes this is expressed in low efficiency of diastole, for smooth muscles - in spastic processes (Gromova O.A.).

Intramuscular administration of some magnesium preparations, so widespread in Russia, is not used in developed countries for ethical reasons due to severe pain at the injection site and a real threat of abscess formation. Parenteral magnesium therapy is indicated only in urgent situations of magnesium deficiency. The usual dose is 100 mg/hour intravenously or via auto-syringe for 4–6 hours per day. For eclampsia, slow intravenous administration of 25% magnesium sulfate in a dose of 10–20 ml is acceptable. With rapid administration of magnesium, hypermagnesemia is possible. Parenteral magnesium therapy, in case of urgent need, should be carried out only in hospital settings. The drugs of choice for long-term prevention and treatment of magnesium deficiency are oral dosage forms. At the same time, organic magnesium salts (magnesium citrate, magnesium pidolate, magnesium lactate and others) are not only much better absorbed, but also easier to tolerate by patients. They are less likely to cause side effects from the gastrointestinal tract and better compensate for magnesium deficiency (Gromova O.A.).

Magnesium deficiency in the body is not always accompanied by a low level of magnesium in the blood serum. A lack of magnesium in the blood is called hypomagnesemia.

Magnesium compounds - antacids
Many magnesium salts are used as antacids (see). Antacids are divided into two large classes - absorbable (soluble in the blood) and non-absorbable (insoluble). Absorbed antacids are those that either themselves or the products of their reaction with gastric acid dissolve in the blood. Absorbable antacids are characterized by the rapid onset of the effect of taking the medication. Disadvantages of absorbed antacids: short duration of action, acid rebound (increased secretion of hydrochloric acid after the end of their action), the formation of carbon dioxide during their reaction with hydrochloric acid, which stretches the stomach and stimulates gastroesophageal reflux.

Among magnesium salts there are absorbable antacids (magnesium carbonate and magnesium oxide) and non-absorbable ones (magnesium hydroxide, magnesium trisilicate and others). To date, due to their shortcomings, absorbable antacids have, for the most part, given way to non-absorbable ones. The only widely used absorbable antacid today is Rennie tablets with the active ingredient “calcium carbonate + magnesium carbonate”.

Today, monotherapy with antacids – metal salts – is practically not used. Modern antacids contain a balanced complex of active substances that compensate for each other's deficiencies. Most often, they combine magnesium salts, which have a laxative effect, and aluminum salts, which have a fixing effect. Examples of such drugs are “Almagel”, “Altacid”, “Alumag”, “Gastratsid”, “Maalox”, “Maalukol” and “Palmagel” (active ingredient “aluminum hydroxide + magnesium hydroxide”). Often simethicone is added to magnesium and aluminum compounds to prevent flatulence (Almagel Neo, Antareit, Gestid, Relzer) or benzocaine (Almagel A, Palmagel A) to relieve pain. There are also combinations of magnesium hydroxide and hydrotalcide (“Gastal”) and others.

Magnesium salts, which are part of non-absorbable antacids (magnesium hydroxide and others), are absorbed in the stomach and intestines only in minimal quantities. However, any significant increase in the level of magnesium in the blood serum occurs only in patients with severe renal failure (Ilchenko A.A., Selezneva E.Ya.).

Magnesium compounds - laxatives
Many magnesium salts (see) are osmotic laxatives. The therapeutic effect of osmotic laxatives is to attract water into the intestinal lumen along an osmotic gradient. This is accompanied by an increase in the volume of contents and easier movement, the consistency of stool becomes softer, and the frequency of bowel movements increases. The undesirable side of the action of saline osmotic laxatives, which include magnesium sulfate, magnesium phosphate, magnesium oxide, magnesium hydroxide, magnesium citrate, is that their action spreads throughout the intestines and carries the risk of electrolyte disorders, whereas the point of application of the “ideal laxative” "There must be a large intestine. In patients with cardiovascular and renal failure, salt osmotic laxatives can provoke volume and electrolyte overload (Shulpekova Yu.O.).
Magnesium and cardiovascular disease
Magnesium and magnesium salts have been used in the treatment of cardiac and vascular diseases since the last century. The greatest effects from the use of magnesium preparations in complex therapy are associated with the treatment of combined arterial hypertension with hyperlipidemia, manifestations of myocardial ischemia; combined arterial hypertension with impaired glucose tolerance or type 2 diabetes mellitus; prevention and treatment of stress-induced cardiovascular complications. In cardiology, the anti-ischemic, antiarrhythmic, hypotensive, diuretic effects of magnesium are used, which are achieved in the absence of obvious signs of magnesium deficiency and, most likely, are a consequence of antagonism with calcium, but are far from being limited to this mechanism. Magnesium preparations are active both in urgent situations (intravenous administration) and with continuous oral administration in combination therapy for cardiovascular pathology.

One of the magnesium preparations used in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases is magnesium orotate (see).

On the other hand, the inclusion of certain magnesium salts in the composition of cardiovascular drugs reduces the risk of gastroenterological adverse events such as drug ulcers and gastric erosions. Such a drug, for example, is the antiplatelet drug Cardiomagnyl, which contains, in addition to acetylsalicylic acid, magnesium hydroxide, which acts as an antacid.

Possible effects of magnesium-containing products on the human body
Antacids containing aluminum and magnesium are additionally capable of adsorbing pepsin, bile acids, and lysolecithin, which has an additional protective effect. It is important that the adsorption of these components of duodenal contents may also have an additional therapeutic effect regarding the suppression of pancreatic secretion in pancreatitis. Magnesium compounds have antipeptic activity (mainly due to inhibition of pepsin release), a stimulating effect on the production of gastric mucus, and the ability to enhance gastrointestinal motility; a protective effect on the gastric mucosa is expressed. Drugs containing magnesium should be taken for a long time (over several months) with caution, even in therapeutic doses. It has been shown that magnesium compounds can interfere with the absorption of folic acid in the intestine, the absorption of potassium (which must be especially taken into account if the patient suffers from arrhythmia or is taking cardiac glycosides) (Shulpekova Yu.O., Ivashkin V.T.).

One of the features of the action of magnesium-containing antacids is an increase in intestinal motor function, which can lead to normalization of stool, but if taken in excess, to the development of diarrhea. An overdose of magnesium-containing antacids increases the magnesium content in the body of patients, which can cause bradycardia and/or renal failure (Vasiliev Yu.V.).

Accumulation of magnesium in the body leads to hypermagnesemia followed by bradycardia in children with renal failure (Belmer S.V.).

Absorbable magnesium-containing antacids are not recommended for use in pregnant women and in patients with renal failure due to the possible development of neurological and cardiovascular disorders (Fadeenko G.D.).

Mineral waters with high magnesium content
Many mineral waters contain magnesium in therapeutically significant amounts. Below, the table lists some of them.
Name of mineral water Characteristic Magnesium content Mg 2+, mg/l Type
"Donat Mg" magnesium-sodium hydrocarbonate-sulfate 1060 medicinal
"Mivela Mg++" hydrocarbonate sodium-magnesium 286 medical dining room
"Uleimskaya (magnesium)" chloride-sulfate calcium-sodium (magnesium-calcium sodium) 100–200 medical dining room
"Magnesia" hydrocarbonate magnesium siliceous 150–250 medical dining room
"Dorokhovskaya" magnesium-calcium sulfate 150–300 medical dining room
"Narzan" sulfate-hydrocarbonate sodium-magnesium-calcium 50–120 medical dining room

Magnesium cations present in mineral waters, like calcium cations, reduce the permeability of cell membranes and, therefore, have an anti-inflammatory effect. They have a sedative, choleretic and laxative effect (especially in combination with sulfate anions) (Baranovsky A.Yu. et al.).

Magnesium content in the human body
67% of the total amount of magnesium in the human body is contained in bone tissue, 31% in cells, 1–2% in extracellular fluid. The daily requirement for magnesium is 300 mg for women, 350 mg for men, and approximately 150 mg more for pregnant women, nursing mothers, and young adolescents. The need for magnesium increases with heavy muscle load. Only 30–40% of this amount is absorbed, mainly in the duodenum and distal jejunum. Magnesium excretion is mainly carried out by the kidneys and averages 6–12 mEq/day. Magnesium reabsorption in the kidneys occurs extremely efficiently: 25% of magnesium filtered in the glomeruli is reabsorbed in the proximal renal tubules, and another 50–60% in the thick segment of the ascending limb of the loop of Henle.

The content of magnesium Mg 2+ in the blood is determined using a biochemical analysis. Normal values depend on the patient’s age and are within the limits indicated in the table on the right (Ingerleib M.G.). Deviations from the norm to a lesser extent are called hypomagnesemia, and to a greater extent - hypermaginemia.

To determine the content of microelements and, in particular, magnesium in the body, hair is a convenient material. The normal value is 25–100 mcg of magnesium per gram of hair biosubstrate. At the same time, in patients with chronic gastroduodenitis and peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, the level of magnesium in the biosubstrate increases to approximately 140 and 155 mcg/g, respectively, which is explained by the increased need for them in patients with chronic gastroduodenitis and peptic ulcer, and, as a consequence of their compensatory metabolic “ relocation" in the biosubstrates of the body (Sergeev V.N.).

Disorders of magnesium metabolism in the human body according to the International Classification of Diseases ICD-10 belong to “Class IV. Diseases of the endocrine system, nutritional disorders and metabolic disorders" and are presented in blocks:

  • “E50-E64 Other types of malnutrition”, heading “E61.3 Magnesium deficiency”

What is alkaline mineral water? In terms of composition, this drink belongs to the hydrocarbonate group of natural origin, rich in mineral salts. The acid level in mineral water is more than 7 pH. A person who consumes it regularly activates protein and carbohydrate metabolism in his body and increases the efficiency of the digestive system.

Why should you drink alkaline mineral water?

The definition of “alkaline” is quite general in relation to the chemical composition of water. It means that it contains bicarbonate ions, sodium and magnesium sulfate. Chemical elements are beneficial to the body, they help prevent and eliminate illnesses. It is recommended to drink alkaline soda for the following diseases:

Among the chemical elements of mineral water is magnesium sulfate, which essential for brain function. For this reason, it is recommended to take it to stabilize the nervous system after stress.

In addition, alkaline water is especially necessary for energetic people. Thanks to it, metabolic products are eliminated from the body in a short time, and swelling does not occur in the tissues.

Healing effect

Hydrocarbonate mineral water replenishes the alkaline reserve in the body, reduces the volume of hydrogen ions, and improves the health of the digestive organs.

Benefits of alkaline mineral water:

  • cleansing the digestive organs of mucus;
  • relieving the burning sensation;
  • elimination of heaviness in the stomach and belching;
  • purification from metabolic products.

Rules of use

The most beneficial effect on the body is provided by drinking water immediately at the site of extraction from a natural well. Nevertheless, even bottled alkaline water improves the health of the body if you know how to use it correctly.

The daily required volume of fluid is determined by the acidity of the human body. The degree of acidity can be determined in a hospital. On average, the norm is 3 ml/kg of weight. In other words, you need to drink 600 ml of liquid per day.

Requirements for drinking mineral water:

  • for preventive purposes - 30 minutes before meals;
  • ulcers and gastritis - after eating;
  • in case of excessive formation of gastric juice - during meals;
  • gastritis with low acidity - 1–1.5 hours before meals.

To treat hyperacid gastritis, you need to drink alkaline water without gas. Therefore, before using it, carbon dioxide must evaporate from the liquid. The reason is a significant increase in the volume of gastric juice from carbon dioxide.

The liquid temperature requirements are simple: for stomach diseases, it needs to be warmed up a little, and in other cases – consume at room temperature.

To absorb beneficial substances, mineral water should not be drunk quickly in large sips. If your health worsens, you need to stop drinking alkaline mineral water and consult a doctor.

Contraindications for use

  • urolithiasis disease;
  • urinary tract disorders (difficulty removing excess salts);
  • renal failure;
  • bilateral chronic pyelonephritis;
  • insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus.

Medicinal table mineral water- mineral water intended for both regular drinking (not regular drinking) and for medicinal purposes.

According to GOST R 54316-2011, water with mineralization from 1 to 10 g/l inclusive or with less mineralization if it contains biologically active components, the mass concentration of which is not less than those listed in the table below balneological standards, is considered medicinal. Regardless of the degree of mineralization, medicinal table mineral waters include mineral waters containing the following components:

Biologically active component Component content,
mg per 1 liter of water
Name of mineral water group
Free carbon dioxide (contained at source)
⩾ 500
carbonic acid
Iron ⩾ 10 glandular
Boron (in terms of orthoboric acid) 35,0–60,0 boric
Silicon (in terms of metasilicon acid) ⩾ 50 siliceous
Iodine 5,0–10,0 iodine
Organic matter (based on carbon) 5,0–15,0 containing organic matter
Mineral waters that are not medicinal and table waters
Mineral waters with mineralization less than 1 g/l are classified as table waters. Table waters can be recommended for regular drinking over a long period of time. Mineral waters with a mineralization of more than 10 g/l or in the presence of certain biologically active components are classified as medicinal mineral waters. Drinking medicinal mineral waters is recommended only after consultation with a specialist.
Medical use of mineral waters

Mineral waters are indicated for:
  • gastroesophageal reflux disease, esophagitis
  • chronic gastritis with normal, low and high acidity
  • stomach and/or duodenal ulcers,
(beyond the acute stage), as well as for other diseases (see. List of medical indications for the use of mineral waters). For each type of mineral water, GOST R 54316-2011 establishes a list of medical indications, which is an excerpt from the mentioned List.

Before bottling, in order to preserve the chemical composition and medicinal properties, medicinal table mineral water is usually carbonated with carbon dioxide. However, before using for medicinal purposes, bottled water most often needs to be degassed (without applying excessive heat, which can change the chemical composition of the water). For therapeutic or long-term use of medicinal table mineral waters, consultation with a specialist is necessary.

Mixtures of natural medicinal table mineral waters (unnatural waters)
Sometimes during extraction and production, for one reason or another, two or more medicinal table mineral waters from different sources and/or different deposits are mixed. Sometimes such waters are called unnatural. They are not subject to GOST R 54316-2011. “Natural drinking mineral waters. General technical conditions". Based on their composition or the fact that they are a mixture of medicinal table waters, they are also positioned as medicinal table waters. Such waters, in particular, include:
