Press about the trading network

Radezh, together with the administration, holds quality days to popularize the products of local manufacturers among the population of the Volgograd region. The basis of such events is a correct understanding of the production process of organic products that are grown by local farmers and organizations. Aspiring to carry out deliveries in their region, for their fellow countrymen. Providing the needs of the daily diet with clean and environmentally friendly products. After all, the role of quality control on the part of the consumers themselves is the most important link in the chain of coordinated actions to raise the economic process of the entire region. The role of profit in this process is certainly important, but the point of view based on trust is an important factor. Recognition of a product as environmentally friendly, produced without nitrates is in itself the best stamp of quality. If we add to this the reviews of the buyers themselves, then the picture of the correct approach to the goal is clear - providing the region with everything necessary from its land, in its native land. Radezh was one of the first companies to take part in such a complex but important support program for a local manufacturer. Purchasing from local TM Radezh not only enables development of local farms, but also provides buyers with high-quality and environmentally friendly products, additionally, for its part, checking the products supplied to our stores for nitrates and radiation.

Additionally

December 20, 2011 retail chain "Radezh" received the sign "Volgograd quality". The honorary award was received for products of our own production. And this is a worthy reward for the excellent quality of our culinary products. From July 1, 2011, every visitor of the Radezh store has the opportunity to get almost any product in any store of the network for free. The only condition is that in the store you need to find exactly the same product with an expired shelf life. These are not the first obligations to the people of Volgograd that the Radezh trading network has undertaken. In the spring of the same year, the network undertook to conduct an additional check of all fruits and vegetables entering the retail distribution center for nitrates and radiation.

An excerpt characterizing Radezh (trading network)

I really loved our kind quiet street. It was not very wide and not too long, as I always called it - home. At one end it rested against the forest, at the other, against a huge chamomile field (on the site of which much later, to my great regret, a local railway station was built). On our street, then still immersed in greenery, only about twenty private houses huddled. It was a “blessed” time when there were no TVs yet (we had our first one when I was nine years old) and people just talked.
We all knew each other well and lived like it was one big friendly family. Some were loved, some not so much... But everyone knew that if he had trouble, someone would always come to his aid, and it never happened that someone was left aside. Even the most "harmful" tried to help, although later, of course, one way or another, they did not forget to remember this. I am by no means trying to show the romantic idyllicness of the place and time in which I lived, and, moreover, to reduce the significance of any "progress" that appeared. But I will never be able to forget how much warmer and cleaner people were when their souls and minds were not burdened by the alien "fog of well-being" and "mental dirt" of the same "progress".
In total, twelve boys and four girls lived on our entire street in my time, we were all of different ages and had different interests. But, despite this, there was one summertime that we all loved - in the evening, when everyone got together and did something in which everyone, both grown-up children and toddlers, could participate. And it was always very difficult for our poor parents when they had to drive their “children” home, tearing them away from some (of course, always amazing!) Unfinished story or game ...
And even here, in the most seemingly harmless corner of my life, I again received another bitter lesson that it would be better if I always kept my strange “abilities” with me. It turned out that no matter what game we played, I always knew its result in advance, whether it was hide-and-seek or riddles, or just some stories. And at first I was sincerely sure that it should be so. I was happy when I won (and this, in principle, almost always worked out) and did not understand at all why this caused the "deep fury" of my friends, although they usually treated me very well. And then one day, apparently, one of them “broke through” and after my next success, he angrily said:
“We don’t want to play with you anymore if you don’t stop showing your nasty “things”…
It was a shock for me, because I did not show any such “things”, and even more so - nasty ones, and could not understand at all what was being said. I never even thought about why I knew this or that answer in advance - for me it was absolutely normal. But it turned out that for everyone else - not really. I came home all offended and closed myself in my room to experience it in “my corner” ... But, unfortunately, my grandmother had an iron flair for my unsuccessful “adventures”. She always knew if something was wrong and it was absolutely useless to deny it.
And, of course, she, as usual, appeared at my place in just a minute and found me all in tears. I have never been a crybaby ... But I have always endured the bitterness of unfair accusations. Especially when they came from the closest friends. After all, only friends can truly hurt, because their words penetrate straight into the heart.
- It's okay, you'll see, time will pass - everything will be forgotten, - grandmother reassured, - resentment is not smoke, it won't eat out your eyes.
The eyes may not be there, but the heart was eaten away by each new drop, and how! I was still just a child, but I already knew a lot of things that “it’s better not to show” or “it’s better not to say” ... And I learned not to show. After that little incident during the game, I tried to no longer show that I know more than others and everything was fine again. Yes, just okay?

Summer has come without a hitch. And it was this summer (according to my mother's promise) that I was supposed to see the sea for the first time. I have been waiting for this moment since the winter, as the sea was my old “great” dream. But by a completely stupid accident, my dream almost turned into dust. There were only a couple of weeks left before the trip, and in my mind I was almost “sitting on the shore” ... But, as it turned out, it was still far from the shore. It was a nice warm summer day. Nothing special happened. I was lying in the garden under my favorite old apple tree, reading a book and dreaming about my favorite gingerbread… Yes, yes, gingerbread. From a small neighborhood shop.
I don't know if I've ever eaten anything tastier after? Even after so many years, I still remember the amazing taste and smell of this amazing delicacy that melts in your mouth! They were always fresh and unusually soft, with a dense sweet crust of icing that burst at the slightest touch. Stunningly smelling of honey and cinnamon, and something else that was almost impossible to catch ... It was for these gingerbreads that I was going to go without hesitation for a long time. It was warm, and I (according to our common custom) was dressed only in short shorts. The store was nearby, just a couple of houses away (there were three of them on our street!).
In Lithuania at that time, small shops in private houses were very popular, which usually occupied only one room. They literally grew like mushrooms after rain and were usually kept by citizens of Jewish nationality. Just like this store I went to was owned by a neighbor named Schreiber. He was always a very pleasant and courteous person, and had very good products, and especially sweets.
To my surprise, when I got there, I could not even go inside - the store was packed with people. Apparently they brought something new and no one wanted to make a mistake, being left without a novelty ... So I stood in a long queue, stubbornly not intending to leave and patiently waiting for when I finally get my favorite gingerbread. We moved very slowly, because the room was packed to capacity (and it was about 5x5 meters in size) and because of the huge "uncles and aunts" I could not see anything. Suddenly, taking the next step, with a wild scream, I flew head over heels down the roughly knocked down wooden stairs and plopped down on the same rough wooden boxes ...
It turns out that the owner, either in a hurry to sell a new product, or simply forgetting, left the lid of his (seven-meter deep!) Basement open, into which I managed to fall. I apparently hit very hard, because I didn’t remember at all how and who pulled me out of there. Around were very frightened faces of people and the owner, endlessly asking if everything was all right with me. Of course, I was hardly okay, but for some reason I didn’t want to admit it, and I said that I would go home. A whole crowd saw me off ... The poor grandmother almost had a stroke when she suddenly saw all this stunning "procession" leading me home ...

General Director of the Volgograd group of companies "Radezh" Yuri Sudarev invests more than 1.5 billion rubles in his own agricultural enterprise "Ovoshchevod". The plans include the construction of greenhouses on an area of 20 hectares and the use of new lighting technologies that will allow growing tomatoes and cucumbers in winter. Most of the production will be sold to external buyers. Yuri Sudarev told Retailer.RU about this.

Import replacement

“The idea to enter agriculture appeared against the backdrop of prices for imported greenhouse products, which we purchased for the Radezh retail chain. Prices, to put it mildly, bite, and we decided that we could well produce our own products at a competitive price,” says the entrepreneur. "In 2004, the state farm Ovoshchevod, known throughout the USSR in the past, was in a state of bankruptcy. In fact, we got only debts. At the first stage, we invested about 300 million rubles in the farm - we completely modernized the technological process at old facilities, a little later, 5 hectares of new greenhouses were built." Subsequently, the third open-field investment project was implemented, thanks to which the company began to grow onions in addition to cucumbers and tomatoes. Now the fourth investment project is already at the implementation stage, which will increase the production volume at the enterprise by 3-4 times.

The future harvest will be realized advantageously to external buyers. With the growth of production volumes, the share of own retail in the volume of product sales is reduced. A few years ago it was half, today - 20%. And as new greenhouses are launched, there will be even less. Products are supplied to the Radezh retail chain on the same terms as to other partners. All seasonal tomatoes, cucumbers and onions sold in the chain's stores are supplied by Vegetable Grower.

The project will be implemented both on own and borrowed funds. The proportions in the company are not disclosed, but they say that today the total loan portfolio of Radezh Group of Companies is a little less than 1.8 billion rubles. "Almost all of this is long-term funds raised for a period of three to eight years from Sberbank, VTB and UniCredit Bank at rates not exceeding 10% per annum," Yury Sudarev emphasizes.

The priority region for the development of retail business "Radezh" remains the home market - the Volgograd region. The entrepreneur finds it difficult to assess the current market share. "It is difficult to calculate the real figure, primarily because of the lack of accurate data on the economy from the regional authorities," says Sudarev. In his opinion, despite the presence of almost all federal networks in Volgograd, the market is far from being saturated. Therefore, in any settlement with a population of more than 5 thousand people, the company seeks to open its store. In the long term, Sudarev plans to double the size of the business and move it to the neighboring Voronezh and Astrakhan regions.

"Magnet": for its vegetables - up to 70% of sales

Of the large FMCG retailers, only Magnit has its own agricultural production. Since 2011, the Green Line greenhouse complex has been part of the group of companies. The project is not finished yet: the company continues to expand it, gradually commissioning new blocks of greenhouses. It is assumed that they will occupy about 100 hectares of land.

Since the beginning of 2013, more than 14,000 tons of cucumbers and 650 tons of tomatoes have been grown in Green Line greenhouses. In addition to them, lettuce and greens are also grown in the greenhouse complex. "For the period from September to November 2013, own cucumbers accounted for about half of sales within the category, for cherry tomatoes - more than 70%," the company told Retailer.RU. How much the greenhouse economy has already cost and how much it will still cost, the company does not disclose. As Sergei Galitsky, the founder of the network, said in an interview, he plans to invest up to €350 million in the development of the greenhouse industry.
