Antifungal potent drugs for thrush irunin. Instructions for use. What is trichopolum

It takes 3 months for the effect to appear

Grade: 4

The regimen for taking Irunin for onychomycosis is called pulse therapy. You need to drink 4 capsules of the medicine daily for a week, dividing it into 2 independent doses. Then take a break for 3 weeks and repeat this shock therapy on the 5th week. After another 3 weeks, on the 9th week, take the capsules again. Dosage - standard, 100 mg. There are only different packaging. I took the ones with 14 capsules. If you take 2 packages, then it’s enough for a week; there are no extra capsules left until next time.
The treatment is not cheap, but I did not buy analogues. While I was taking this course, I only trimmed my nails every 3 days and did not lubricate them with anything. Sometimes during the week that I took the capsules, I felt a little nauseous, and the intake was accompanied by constipation. As soon as the week passed, my health stabilized. Now my nails are fine, the capsules helped.

There were some side effects

Grade: 4

I treated dermatosis with Irunin, which was especially bothersome in the fall and spring. I read in the instructions that the drug is very unpredictable and toxic, so I drank capsules with caution - 1 capsule instead of the recommended 2 per day. A package of 14 pieces lasted for 2 weeks, during which time the skin manifestations disappeared and the body stopped itching. The spots and wounds that appeared from scratching have healed.
Of course, there were some side effects; after all, this is a very aggressive antibiotic. There were problems with both the gastrointestinal tract and the respiratory system. And all the time I really wanted to drink and sleep.

Quality doesn't justify the price

Grade: 4

I still don’t understand what the highlight of this drug is - there are analogs that are 20 times cheaper, but the effect is exactly the same. “Irunin” decided to drink it when she caught ringworm from her cat, I really wanted to get rid of this nasty thing instantly. But it didn’t work out quickly; it took 10 days before the lichen spots disappeared and the skin stopped itching until it bled. For the first 2 days I took 2 capsules, the rest - 1 capsule. There are no strict times for taking it, the only recommendation is that it is better to take it either during a meal or immediately after it. So that the contents of the capsules do not irritate the stomach and do not give an undesirable reaction by mixing with gastric juice.
The symptoms disappeared little by little, first the scabies and small water blisters went away, then the spots turned from bright pink to flesh-colored, and lastly the white scales disappeared.
I liked that the capsules have a gelatin shell that dissolves very slowly, so you can hold them in your mouth for a long time before swallowing and still don’t feel an unpleasant taste. I did not experience any special complications, as from a strong antibiotic: no diarrhea, no nausea and abdominal pain. I just had a slight weakness and my head ached in the evening.

Not too good for health

Grade: 3

If I ever have to resort to the help of “Irunin” again, it will be only as a last resort, because I can’t call my impression of the treatment absolutely positive. With its help, it was possible to cure thrush relatively quickly and painlessly - I took only 3 days, one capsule in the morning and in the evening. On the 2nd day, all the discharge, discomfort in the intimate area, burning and itching disappeared. Since the course was short and rapid, there was no deterioration in health due to the drug.
But when she wanted to use it to cure an advanced fungus on her feet, she took a mouthful of negativity. I drank everything according to the same scheme: a capsule after breakfast and a capsule after lunch. A package of 14 pieces goes out in a week. Firstly, the treatment turns out to be very expensive, because 2 packages are needed per month, and it is advisable to undergo treatment for 2 months. Secondly, in terms of health, such therapy is fraught with complications.
The drug did a great job for my liver and kidneys. It also affected my heart - problems with blood pressure began. This became apparent just a week after the start of treatment: my back began to hurt, my urine was cloudy, and then my right side started to hurt. Then changes in blood pressure and tingling in the heart began. In general, I “finished” the course to the end, but my health was so bad that even the completely disappeared fungus did not please me.

Effective but toxic

Grade: 3

On the one hand, the drug is wonderful - it is guaranteed to help against almost all types of mycosis. On the other hand, it’s disgusting - very aggressive, with a bunch of side effects and contraindications, especially for those with a weak liver. It was precisely because of this that I was unable to finish the prescribed course to the end. The dermatologist recommended the following regimen: take the drug for a week, rest for 3 weeks. And repeat this cycle 3 times. The trick is that within a week of taking the substances that have a detrimental effect on the fungus accumulate in the body and in the following days, until the person takes the pills, they gradually kill the mycotic colony. But I was only able to take it for 2 weeks instead of 3. Moreover, I endured the first week of treatment very well, there were practically no unpleasant sensations, except perhaps increased thirst.
I was also glad that the mycotic scatterings began to turn pale and disappear right before our eyes. After waiting for the allotted break time, I started taking it again. And then it began! Terrible pain in the side, nausea and a sharp metallic taste in the mouth (although I took the capsules strictly after a heavy meal, in order to avoid just such a reaction), weakness and headache. In general, I quit after a couple of days - it was too bad. But so far, according to my observations, there has been no relapse; the fungus has not returned, despite incomplete treatment.

A good product in combination with others

Grade: 4

The drug was prescribed to me as part of therapy: steaming, vitamins, ointment and these capsules. The scheme is complex: you drink 2 pieces for a week, then take a break for 3 weeks and repeat. In total, the treatment lasts 3 months, you drink for a total of 3 weeks, 42 capsules.
I managed to get my nails in order within 2 months, and after finishing the course the fungus did not return. I consider this to be the merit of Irunin, because the rest of the drugs were aimed at treating symptoms, not the disease.
The disadvantages include the duration of treatment and the high price: 800 rubles per package is inexpensive in itself, but a 3-month course is affordable.

Helps in advanced cases

Grade: 4

Irunin is sold in the form of capsules of 6 and 14 pieces; it is more profitable to take a large package, because it is taken 2 per day. A pack of 14 pieces is enough for a week. The medicine acts on fungal cells, kills them and slows down their growth. But it has a long list of side effects. It hits the gastrointestinal tract the hardest, can cause allergies, affect female organs and the liver, even leading to death. I wouldn’t risk taking it without a doctor’s prescription.
To treat nail fungus, you need to drink it at intervals of a week a month. Optimal period: 3 courses, but in my case it took 5 courses to recover completely.
Within 3 months, the affected nail plate disappeared and a new one began to grow in its place, but soon the fungus began to appear on other nails. And only when I took 2 more courses in excess of the prescribed amount, the disease left me alone. There were side effects, but not severe: lethargy, dizziness, headaches, I wanted to sleep all the time. This is not very good, but you can be patient for the sake of getting rid of the infection.

Long-term treatment with serious restrictions

Grade: 4

Irunin treated oral candidiasis that arose after long-term use of antibiotics. It took almost 3 months to restore healthy microflora and eliminate pathogenic ones. After starting treatment, the fungal infection stopped progressing and did not spread to the lips. But the main symptoms went away very slowly. The plaques on the tongue, inside the cheeks and gums gradually became softer and smaller. A filmy coating similar to milk did not form. Excessive sensitivity decreased and I was able to eat normally. The bad breath disappeared, and I was no longer ashamed to communicate with people. There is no pain when chewing and swallowing.
The results of the treatment were obvious (I took the pills strictly according to the schedule without skipping). But I constantly had to deal with side effects from the drug - nausea, headaches and unexpected severe cramps in the stomach. Linex and other drugs did not help, Omeprozole relieved the discomfort only partially. Hygiene had to be given increased attention. The doctor recommended following a strict diet. At first I didn’t attach any importance to this; the recovery process was slow. When I excluded sweets and starchy foods from my diet, my dynamics improved.

Complex treatment, many nuances

Grade: 4

Irunin made it possible to completely restore the nail plates after getting rid of the aggressive fungus. The aesthetic appearance of the nails has been restored. They no longer flaked, crumbled, or broke at the slightest pressure. All white and yellow spots have disappeared, pigmentation is normal. The nail plate became smooth, without cracks or dents. Good results were achieved provided that 2/3 of the nail was affected. After starting treatment, the spread of infection immediately stopped. But the treatment process itself cannot be called easy.
It was not possible to do without additional help in the form of Exoderil. I cut and filed away the affected areas as often as possible, and applied varnish on top. This way there was no access of moisture and dirt to the diseased nail, the effect of using Irunin was maximum. The treatment took a very long time - almost 3 months. I took tests periodically, this allowed the doctor to choose the optimal dosage.
Treatment should not be interrupted until tests confirm complete recovery. You cannot take breaks in treatment, otherwise the fungus will begin to multiply again. Personal hygiene is of great importance. The results of treatment were prolonged, there was no relapse.

There is an effect, but the intestinal microflora deteriorates

Grade: 4

The drug is effective against various types of fungi. He helped me get rid of pityriasis versicolor. The cost is reasonable compared to advertised medications, and the effectiveness is no less. It is more profitable to purchase a package of 14 capsules at once. There are several important conditions during treatment. I had to follow a diet (reduce the amount of sugar and food with yeast ingredients) and reliably protect myself.
The release form is well thought out - in the form of capsules. This reduces the negative impact on the stomach and intestinal microflora. But she still took the drug at the same time to maintain the microflora. And there was not a single side effect characteristic of taking anti-fungal agents.
The size of the capsules is not the smallest, and it is not very convenient to swallow. The lichen spots disappeared very quickly. I used Irunin to treat him twice. The second time I managed to catch the disease at the very beginning. After a couple of days, all the spots on the skin faded and became almost invisible. The integrity and relief of the skin have been completely restored, and no pigmentation disorders remain. The initial manifestations of thrush were also eliminated very quickly, the disease did not develop.

A rash has appeared

Grade: 4

To treat thrush, which constantly recurred, suppositories and tablets were prescribed simultaneously. I took the tablets twice a day strictly after meals. I inserted the suppositories directly into the vagina before going to bed in a lying position. The unpleasant sensations persisted for half an hour; there was a clear sensation of a foreign body. Vaginal dryness never appeared. Improvements did not become noticeable immediately, but only after 5 days. The itching and burning disappeared, and the discharge lasted the longest. The unpleasant sour smell was eliminated almost immediately, and further development of the infection stopped.
The minimum course is designed for 15 days, but the final duration and correct dosage can only be determined by a doctor based on a range of tests. The only side effect was a rash similar to hives on the external genitalia. It did not cause any inconvenience and went away quickly after stopping the drug. During treatment, she followed a strict diet, giving up sweets, flour, yeast and fermented milk. This makes it easier to defeat the fungus, since it does not receive proper nutrition. Compatibility with other regularly taken medications is good, their effectiveness is not reduced, and absorption is not impaired.

It’s very expensive, but it fights fungus well and, most importantly, quickly

Grade: 4

Against the background of ARVI, my ear hurt, both severely and with a fever. The ENT said it was a fungal infection and prescribed a bunch of ear drops. I used them for 10 days, but the result was zero. Then the doctor prescribed an additional antifungal drug Irunin. The price just killed me - almost 1,000 rubles for 14 capsules.
The list of contraindications and adverse reactions was even more terrifying than the price. This drug is really scary to take. The prescription was one capsule per day. I prepared myself for all the terrible consequences from taking this medicine, but nothing terrible happened to me. All those terrible symptoms (ear congestion, buzzing, soreness), which I could not cure for more than a week, disappeared on the 3rd day. Irunin helped me very well.
There were still consequences from taking this drug, but not the worst. My menstrual cycle went wrong, but it only got better after a few months. During the appointment, the urine was unusually dark, almost brown, which caused me a lot of anxiety. After treatment, the test for fungal flora was negative, and cultures were taken not only in the ear, but also on the mucous membranes of the nose and mouth.

Treats, but is difficult to tolerate

Grade: 3

To treat skin fungus, the dermatologist prescribed Irunin capsules, 1 piece twice a day. He advised me to take it after meals and drink it with plenty of water so that my stomach doesn’t hurt later. The course of treatment is 2 weeks. Although I completely followed the doctor’s instructions, my stomach still hurt, heartburn and nausea appeared. Here, the allergy erupted on the skin, which was accompanied by unbearable itching.
But the most unpleasant thing for me was the disruption of the menstrual cycle, it became extremely irregular, sometimes longer, sometimes shorter than a month, pain also appeared, and the discharge became much more abundant. But considering that the fungus bothered me less, on the advice of my doctor, I continued treatment to the end.
My opinion about the drug is ambiguous - on the one hand, it cures the main disease, fungal diseases, perfectly, completely, there are practically no relapses afterward, re-therapy is not required. But on the other hand, there are a lot of unpleasant consequences, the effect of which persists for a long time after stopping the medication. For example, I then had to treat a cycle disorder and gynecological problems for a long time. Yes, and the product is quite expensive.

Gave a side effect to the liver

Almost every woman on the planet has at least once in her life dealt with a rather unpleasant disease - candidiasis, better known as thrush. The disease occurs due to the excessive spread of a specific fungus present in any healthy human body - the causative agent of infection. The fungus that causes thrush (Candida) affects the skin, mucous membrane, and sometimes internal organs.

In women, it is most often localized on the vaginal mucosa and external genitalia. Diagnosed candidiasis requires mandatory treatment, since the development of the disease can lead to serious consequences: inflammation of the bladder, cervical erosion (in women), infertility, erectile dysfunction (in men). Both sexual partners should be treated at the same time, since infection is transmitted through sexual intercourse.

The pathology tends to recur, so patients need comprehensive information about which of the drugs offered on the pharmaceutical market really helps against thrush. Treatment of the disease is complex; the main component is tablets for thrush.

When are the tablets prescribed?

In mild stages of the disease, you can get by with topical medications. If the disease has become chronic or has developed to a severe stage, then pills are prescribed. Oral medications for thrush and pathogenic fungus have a detrimental effect on the fungus itself, destroying it and suppressing its reproduction.

It is important to remember that such medications are taken only as prescribed by a doctor, as they have a number of side effects. The regimen for taking capsules for thrush and the dosage are also determined by the doctor, this helps to avoid the negative impact of antifungal drugs on the beneficial intestinal microflora. Sometimes just one tablet for thrush (Fluconazole) helps get rid of an unpleasant pathology, and in some cases the treatment is extended due to the development of the disease to a chronic stage.

Modern medicine for vaginal candidiasis offers a wide range of new antifungal drugs that can be combined during the treatment process. The key to effective treatment of thrush in women is the prompt administration of antifungal drugs immediately after the symptoms of the disease are detected. This will help stop the rapid growth of yeast.

Symptoms of the disease in women are as follows:

  • itching of the external genitalia;
  • redness of the labia;
  • cheesy vaginal discharge;
  • white coating on the genitals;
  • pain during sexual intercourse and when urinating.

In men, the clinical picture of the pathology is not so pronounced, and therefore men rarely turn to a specialist in the early stages.

The tablets can also be taken as a prophylaxis against candidiasis in certain cases:

  • elderly people;
  • HIV-infected patients;
  • patients with diabetes mellitus;
  • in case of prolonged use of antibiotics;
  • with a sharp change in climatic conditions;
  • with excessive consumption of easily digestible carbohydrate foods.

It should be noted that among modern remedies for thrush for women there are no tablets suitable for oral administration during pregnancy. For pregnant women, vaginal suppositories are provided.

Types of tablets

The pharmaceutical market offers a huge selection of medications for men and women that are effective in the treatment of candidiasis. It is definitely difficult to determine which of them are the best for women.

Remedies for thrush are divided into several large groups and differ from each other in the way they act on the fungus that causes thrush:

  1. Preparations of the polyene group (Nystatin, Levorin). These agents are active against a wide range of yeast fungi. Due to the active substance of the drug, the structure of the fungal cells is destroyed. Also, taking polyenes is suitable for preventive purposes.
  2. Triazole group (Diflucan, Flucostat). The basis of triazole drugs is the substance fluconazole, which suppresses the division of fungal cells, accumulates in the body and is slowly eliminated. Flucostat is an effective treatment for the primary episode of thrush: only 1 tablet is required. The use of this group of medications is also effective in the treatment of chronic thrush in women.
  3. Imidazoles are drugs with disinfectant properties that can penetrate deep into tissues (Clotrimazole, Ketoconazole). Their use is recommended for frequent relapses of the disease.
  4. Macrolide group (Pimafucin, Natamycin) – broad-spectrum agents.
  5. Combination drugs are used in advanced stages of the disease; they consist of several components with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties (Prednisolone, Terzhinan). Treatment of thrush with such tablets allows you to quickly and effectively eliminate the pathological spread of yeast infection in the body.

Systemic drugs

Drugs for systemic candidiasis are antimycotic substances of general action, taken orally in tablet form or used in the form of injections. Absorption of the contents of the capsule into the blood occurs in the gastrointestinal tract, then it is transported through the blood to the fungal proliferation zone. This type of medication has a wide mechanism of action and is used in the treatment of not only vaginal thrush, but also for candidiasis of the oral cavity and intestines. Unfortunately, these medications also have a large number of side effects. Before prescribing such tablets, the doctor will direct the patient to be examined for sensitivity to antifungal agents.

It is possible to choose the best remedy for thrush for women after consulting an experienced gynecologist. For men, a urologist will select good pills to cure candidiasis.

Top 10 most effective remedies

Despite the abundance of medications against thrush, there are specific effective remedies that are popular among doctors and patients. It is difficult to choose the most effective remedy for thrush, since different groups of drugs are used at different stages of the disease. Determining what will help with a particular form of thrush is the task of the attending physician, who will take into account possible side effects. Self-medication can cause irreparable harm to the body. Let's consider the most popular means.

Clotrimazole

Clotrimazole is a vaginal tablet with an antimycotic effect. The drug is sold in a package of 6 vaginal suppositories for thrush, 1 tablet contains 100 mg of the active substance clotrimazole.

The medicine is used for fungal vaginitis, infectious diseases of the genital organs caused by the Candida fungus. Treatment consists of inserting a tablet pre-wetted with warm water deep into the vagina twice a day. Duration of therapy is three days.

Contraindications to taking the medication:

  • pregnancy in the 1st trimester;
  • age up to 12 years;
  • menstrual flow;
  • hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

An undoubted advantage is the inexpensive price of this medicine.

Some antifungal drugs for candidiasis need to be taken only once if we are talking about a simple form of candidiasis that is newly diagnosed (More about the drug in this article). We are talking about the drug Fluconazole, which is released in the form of a capsule with a dosage of 150 mg. It is able to stop the development of fungal infections throughout the body after a single use. Patients note a reduction in discharge and a significant reduction in discomfort.

Chronic fungal diseases will require a second dose of medication after 72 hours. For prevention purposes, you can take fluconazole 150 mg once a month, the duration of use varies from 4 months to a year.

You should know that the drug is prescribed with caution to patients with heart disease, liver and kidney problems. The medicine also cannot be used simultaneously with Terfenadine and Astemizole.

Nystatin belongs to the group of polyene antibiotics active against Candida fungus. The drug is convenient because it is almost not absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and does not have a toxic effect on the body.

Nystatin is used mainly for preventive purposes. In the treatment of thrush, there has been a decrease in its use due to its low effectiveness compared to other drugs. It also makes no sense to use Nystatin in the chronic course of the disease, since with prolonged use the mushrooms become resistant to the components of the drug.

The medicine is not prescribed to persons with severe pathologies of the stomach and liver, who are sensitive to the ingredients of the medicine.

Candidiasis in women can be successfully treated with Livarol. The only form of release of the drug is vaginal suppositories, 5 pieces per package with a concentration of the active substance ketoconazole 400 mg. The components of the drug gradually destroy the cell membrane of fungi and bacterial flora. The medication successfully treats acute and chronic forms of vaginal thrush, is effective as a preventive measure for the recurrence of candidiasis, and is approved for use in the 1st trimester of pregnancy.

There are practically no side effects; in rare situations, itching, redness and irritation of the genitals occur. During the period of treatment with Livarol, it is imperative to abstain from drinking alcohol and also avoid sexual contact. The treatment regimen and dosage are determined only by the attending physician.

Diflucan

According to statistical studies, Diflucan is recognized as the most popular remedy in the fight against thrush at any stage. Its main active ingredient, fluconazole in an amount of 150 mg, immediately suppresses the proliferation of Candida and other yeast-like fungi.

Treatment of mild primary forms of vaginal candidiasis involves taking one tablet with a dosage of 150 mg. It is important that the patient does not suffer from diabetes, blood diseases, or immunodeficiency. A day after taking the capsule, unpleasant symptoms decrease, and after seven days a cure occurs. Treatment of the chronic form occurs over three days: in the morning and evening you need to take 1 capsule at a dosage of 150 mg.

To prevent recurrence of thrush, 150 mg of the drug is taken monthly on the first day of the menstrual cycle for 6 months. This method of treatment is used for both females and males. The drug is not recommended for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and is also not compatible with alcohol.

Side effects from taking Diflucan may include:

  • allergies;
  • dizziness;
  • failure of the liver;
  • convulsions;
  • headache;
  • atrial fibrillation;
  • dyspepsia.

Pimafucin

Pimafucin is a polyene antibiotic that has a detrimental effect on most fungi due to the active ingredient natamycin 100 mg. The drug is absorbed in the intestines, then the substance is sent through the bloodstream to infectious foci in the intestines and vagina.

The product is used in the complex treatment of chronic candidiasis in combination with vaginal antimycotic suppositories. The duration of therapy is usually 10-20 days, 1 capsule is taken 4 times a day before or after meals. The drug is approved for use in pregnant women. The product is not recommended for patients who are hypersensitive to its ingredients.

Polygynax

Vaginal tablets for candidiasis Polygynax, developed by French scientists, have a pronounced antifungal effect.

The drug has 3 active substances, which opens up great possibilities for its use:

  • neomycin is an antibiotic with a broad mechanism of action;
  • polymyxin B is an antibacterial component that has a destructive effect on a number of microorganisms;
  • nystatin is an antifungal component.

Oval soft vaginal suppositories not only destroy the causative fungus, but also additionally restore the natural processes on the vaginal mucosa. Treatment involves inserting one suppository deep into the vagina at night for 14 days. If the product is used for preventive purposes, then 6 days are enough. The drug is not recommended for use by pregnant women and nursing mothers.

Topical medication Terzhinan will help get rid of thrush and destroy pathogenic fungus in women. The product has antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory and antiprotozoal effects due to several active components: neomycin, nystatin, prednisolone capronate, ternidazole.

For therapeutic purposes it is used for various types of vaginitis, and for vaginal trichomoniasis. For prevention, the drug is prescribed before abortion, childbirth, gynecological surgery, before or after insertion of an intrauterine device.

The only contraindication is excessive sensitivity to certain ingredients of the medication. On average, the course of treatment lasts 10 days: 1 vaginal suppository is inserted orally in a supine position. After this, you need to lie down for another 15 minutes so that the product does not leak out.

Irunin is an antimycotic drug of the latest generation, containing the active substance itraconazole, which is effective in the treatment of almost all types of fungal infections. Destroys the structure of fungal cells, thereby having a killing effect on them.

After taking Irunin orally, its active component rushes to the vaginal walls and accumulates there. Due to this, the effect of the medicine continues for another 2-3 days after stopping taking the tablets.

Among the disadvantages of the medication, a number of side effects and restrictions for use can be identified: capsules cannot be used by children, women during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and elderly patients. During therapy with Irunin, sexual intercourse in women must be protected, since itraconazole is toxic and can adversely affect the intrauterine development of the fetus.

Also, the medicine should not be taken by patients with:

  • liver failure;
  • nephropathy;
  • pulmonary diseases;
  • hearing impairments.

Ketoconazole is another medicine used for recurrent candidiasis, as well as to prevent the disease from occurring during long-term antifungal therapy.

This drug is a systemic agent. It is prescribed for various infections caused by yeast-like fungi and Candida fungi.

One tablet contains 200 mg of the active substance ketoconazole. The product should be taken with meals. After administration, Ketoconazole is widely distributed throughout the tissues, a small proportion of it enters the cerebrospinal fluid. After absorption from the gastrointestinal tract, the drug accumulates in the liver.

Since the medication has a systemic effect, there is an extensive list of contraindications to its use: kidney and liver diseases in the acute and chronic phases, age over 50 years. It is strictly forbidden for women to be treated with Ketoconazole during pregnancy and lactation.

Inexpensive tablets against thrush

Inexpensive tablets sold in pharmacies are no less effective than their more expensive counterparts. Considering that the disease tends to recur frequently, then in order to save money, it makes sense to study similar medications.

The bottom line is to find out the active ingredient contained in the medicine prescribed by the doctor. Thus, it is possible to significantly expand the list of antimycotic agents suitable for treating an unpleasant disease. In addition, there is a significant variation in prices for medicines among different imported manufacturers, and domestic analogues cost several times less.

For example, the well-known drug Diflucan has the active component fluconazole. Based on this substance, you can choose a quick and effective remedy for thrush among cheap substitutes: Fluconazole, Mikoflucan, Diflazon, Mikosist, Flucostat.

Pimafucin has no analogues in tablet form, but suppositories Ecofucin and Primafungin will serve as an alternative to Pimafucin vaginal suppositories. Expensive Nizoral has an inexpensive alternative: Mycozoral, Fungavis, Ketoconazole. preparations based on itraconazole (Irunin, Orungal) have a cheap analogue Itraconazole.

Price for tablets

Drugs for the treatment of thrush have a wide price range, depending on the manufacturer and the markup of a particular pharmacy chain. Also the price depends on the country. As an example, we give average prices for Russia.

So, one Diflucan capsule in different pharmacies costs from 400 to 435 rubles. The price for its analogue Fluconazole varies from 27 to 166 rubles, for Diflazon - from 240 to 300 rubles.

20 tablets of Pimafucin will cost patients approximately 400-485 rubles.

For 14 tablets of Itraconazole you need to pay, on average, 350-420 rubles, while for imported similar drugs - many times more: for Orungal - from 2650 rubles, for Irunin - 750 rubles.

Nystatin in an amount of 20 pieces costs from 15 to 35 rubles, a package of Ketoconazole of 10 tablets costs 105-130 rubles.

For your convenience, we have compiled a price table for you.

What exactly to take for thrush is up to the patient to decide after consultation with an experienced gynecologist. Chronic forms of candidiasis, requiring long courses of treatment, will entail significant costs. And analyzing prices on the pharmaceutical market and searching for domestic analogues will save the consumer from unnecessary expenses.

General treatment of thrush: therapy and folk recipes

Candidiasis or thrush is a fairly common fungal infection. Its causative agent is always present in every organism, but does not manifest itself for a long time. A weakened body under the influence of various factors is not able to suppress the active proliferation of the fungus, and the person begins to feel the unpleasant symptoms of this disease. When faced with such a problem, it is important to know how to cure thrush as soon as possible in order to avoid possible complications.

Symptoms of the disease

Candidiasis can affect several organs at once, so it manifests itself in different forms. Most often the disease affects the genital organs, the mucous membrane of the cervix and vagina.

Symptoms of vaginal candidiasis include:

  • curd-like discharge;
  • the appearance of white plaque on the genitals;
  • itching sensation in the genital area;
  • painful urination and discomfort during sexual intercourse;
  • visible swelling of the genital organs.

When candidiasis affects the pharynx and oral cavity, the tongue becomes covered with a white coating. Most often, this disease occurs in infants who receive an infection from the mother during passage through the birth canal. The most severe form of thrush is visceral candidiasis, in which the fungus affects the internal organs. This type of infection is the most difficult to treat.

Symptoms of candidiasis in the absence of characteristic discharge can easily be confused with inflammation of the genitourinary system, so women often turn to a gynecologist with an advanced form of the disease.

Causes of candidiasis infection

The main reason for the development of thrush is the weakening of the body's protective functions. Factors that can provoke a decrease in immunity are:

  1. Antibacterial therapy that disrupts the state of microflora.
  2. Immunodeficiency.
  3. The presence of serious illnesses. For example, oncology, tuberculosis, AIDS, diabetes mellitus and other pathologies of the endocrine system.
  4. Stressful situations and depression.
  5. Severe hormonal disorders.
  6. Unbalanced diet or complete lack of diet. The diet includes a large amount of sweets and is characterized by a deficiency of vitamins.
  7. The use of tight underwear made of low-quality material that does not allow moisture to pass through contributes to the formation of ideal conditions for the growth of fungus.
  8. Having sexual intercourse with a partner infected with candidiasis without using external contraception.

All these factors accelerate the development of a dangerous fungal infection.

Treatment of the disease

Therapy for thrush involves a comprehensive approach to the causes of its development. Only a specialist can select suitable medications for the treatment of candidiasis. He will conduct a series of additional studies and, having received grounds to confirm the diagnosis, will prescribe appropriate antifungal therapy in combination with taking medications containing vitamin and mineral components to strengthen the immune system.

Treatment of candidiasis is carried out in the following ways:

  • drug therapy;
  • use of folk recipes.

Getting rid of a vaginal fungal infection takes place in several stages:

  1. Antifungal treatment, including general and local drugs.
  2. Restoring the flora and environment of the vagina through the use of prebiotics. For example, lactobacterin, lactic acid.
  3. Taking B vitamins and antihistamines along with diet to normalize the functions of the intestines, stomach and liver.
  4. Bringing hormonal levels back to normal and treating associated pathologies.

Vaginal candidiasis must be treated by both sexual partners, only then will the effectiveness of the therapy increase. During the period of taking medications, sexual intercourse should be avoided.

Self-medication or incorrect therapy for thrush leads to a chronic form of the disease, which is difficult to treat and can recur even with the slightest weakening of the body’s protective function.

Treatment of a fungal infection involves not only taking medications, but also observing the following rules:

  • it is necessary to adjust your diet by excluding fatty foods, spicy foods and snacks, sweets and baked goods, as well as carbonated drinks;
  • take a course of vitamins;
  • maintain an active lifestyle;
  • use antibiotics only as prescribed by a doctor and do not self-medicate;
  • exclude casual sexual acts and relationships;
  • use high-quality underwear made of cotton material;
  • normalize weight.

Carrying out such measures for the purpose of prevention allows us to eliminate the factors that provoke thrush.

Drug therapy

The choice of appropriate medications depends largely on the form of candidiasis and its stage. Treatment for thrush can be carried out in one of the following ways:

  1. A mild course of the disease involves the use of topical drugs to relieve the main manifestations. Effective remedies for the first symptoms of candidiasis are suppositories Livarol, Irunin, antifungal ointments and creams (Nystatin, Oxiconazole, Ketoconazole). It is possible to use Ginesol, Pimafucin and Betadine, as well as other drugs. Some products are characterized by a number of contraindications and may not be suitable for patients with individual intolerance to the components included in the composition.
  2. If thrush recurs, general remedies should be used. The main drugs are tablets, the most popular of which are Flucostat, Diflucan, Fluconazole and Mikosist.

Only a doctor knows how to cure thrush in women, with what medications. He will make his medical verdict after performing a flora culture and determining the sensitivity of the fungal infection.

Folk recipes

If you cannot quickly contact a specialist, you can use several effective folk methods.

These include the following recipes:

  1. Pharmacy gynecological collection. It is easy to use and inexpensive. The decoction should be taken three times a day before meals. The collection is used for douching after diluting it with 500 milliliters of warm water.
  2. Chamomile decoction with calendula. Plants have disinfecting properties and quickly reduce inflammation. The decoction is prepared in the following way: pour 2 teaspoons of each herb with hot water and bring to a boil, simmer for another 10 minutes over low heat. After the broth has stood for 2 hours, it can be used for douching after preliminary straining. The procedure is best performed in the morning and at night.
  3. Dilute 0.5 tablespoon of baking soda in a liter of water. The solution is used for douching and washing.
  4. Local baths relieve inflammation well. For preparation you will need 1 teaspoon of boric acid, the same amount of alum and copper sulfate. All ingredients can be purchased at any nearest pharmacy. The collection must be poured with boiling water (1 liter) and left for 2 days in a dry place away from light. Baths should be taken twice a day, diluting 6 teaspoons of solution in 5 liters of water. You only need to lower yourself into the basin for a few minutes; you cannot steam.
  5. The collection for washing should be prepared from oak bark, nettle, string and lavender in a ratio of 3:2:1, 5:1, respectively. To perform a one-time hygiene procedure, 1 tablespoon of the collection, poured with 150 ml of boiling water, is enough. When the solution has stood for 2 hours, add the same amount of boiled water to it, then cool and use while washing.
  6. To restore normal vaginal microflora, you can make tampons at home according to the following scheme: fold gauze like an accordion and moisten it in low-fat kefir. The tampon should be left in the vagina overnight and removed in the morning using a pre-sewn thread. After the procedure, it is necessary to douche with any decoction with disinfecting properties (for example, chamomile).
  7. Prepare a decoction of sage, chamomile, eucalyptus, yarrow, calendula, poplar and birch buds. All ingredients are taken in equal quantities.

The resulting collection of 2 tablespoons must be infused in boiling water (1 liter). Drink 50 ml of decoction before meals (3 times) during the day.

The listed recipes can relieve the symptoms of thrush, but do not cure it completely. The absence of any sign of candidiasis does not indicate the retreat of the disease, but only allows us to draw a conclusion about the correctness of the therapy used. You can be sure of victory over a fungal infection only after receiving negative smears from both partners and the disappearance of the clinical manifestations of the disease.

The drug "Irunin", produced in the form of vaginal tablets and capsules for oral administration, is widely used to treat thrush. Itraconazole, which is part of it, effectively relieves the symptoms of the disease already in the first days of therapy and prevents relapses. Despite its safety and gentle effect on the body, the drug has a number of side effects and contraindications, including pregnancy and lactation.

Irunin for thrush

"Irunin" is a broad-spectrum antifungal agent, produced in the form of vaginal tablets and capsules for oral use. The drug is successfully used in complex therapy of mycotic lesions of internal organs, skin and mucous membranes, as well as in gynecological practice for the treatment of thrush.

Description and release forms of the drug

The main active ingredient is itraconazole, a synthetic substance that destroys the cell membrane of pathogenic microorganisms and leads to their death. Active against yeast fungi of the genus Candida, as well as dermatophytes and mold organisms.

Vaginal tablets

The product for intravaginal administration is available in the form of ring-shaped white tablets. The unique form of the drug facilitates administration and ensures its uniform distribution over the affected areas of the vaginal mucosa. Itraconazole acts locally, without entering the internal bloodstream, and tissue absorption is practically absent. The main indication for use, including chronic, accompanied by frequent relapses.

Capsules for oral administration

"Irunin" for oral use is available in the form of capsules with a yellow gelatin shell containing white spherical pellets. The maximum concentration of the drug in the blood is reached approximately 4 hours after ingestion. The active substance accumulates in the skin and keratin of the nail plates, and enters the tissues of internal organs colonized by pathogenic microorganisms.

The drug is metabolized by the liver to form a number of substances with antifungal effects comparable to itraconazole. Completely excreted in urine and feces 3-4 weeks after completion of therapy.

Indications for use of the product in capsule form are::

  • fungal infections of the skin, nails, cornea (keratitis);
  • systemic mycoses, accompanied by damage to the respiratory tract, genitourinary organs and gastrointestinal tract;
  • pityriasis versicolor;
  • fungal infection of the oral cavity;

Directions for use, contraindications and side effects

To treat thrush, suppositories are most often used for insertion into the vagina. In case of severe recurrent candidiasis, as well as when fungal infections of the skin and internal organs are detected, simultaneous oral administration of the drug may be prescribed.

The exact dosage and duration of therapy are prescribed by the doctor based on the existing clinical picture.

An approximate application regimen, as well as possible side effects and contraindications are given in the table:

If any of the listed symptoms of side effects occur, you should stop taking the drug and notify your doctor. If local reactions occur in the genital area, the vagina can be carefully washed with boiled water.

Women of reproductive age should use adequate contraception during treatment with the drug until complete recovery. The use of Irunin in the early stages of pregnancy can lead to its termination.

special instructions

While using vaginal tablets to treat thrush, you should stop having sexual intercourse and simultaneously treat your partner to avoid the possibility of re-infection. If a woman does not plan to give up intimate relationships, it is necessary to take care of reliable methods of protection, since itraconazole weakens the effect of some contraceptives.

In addition, the active substance tends to accumulate in the body, so the onset of pregnancy in the menstrual cycle when treatment was carried out is extremely undesirable. If conception is possible, the drug will have a detrimental effect on the fetus, leading to severe abnormalities in its development.

During menstruation, the administration of suppositories is ineffective, so they should be replaced with capsules for oral use.

You should warn your doctor about the use of any medications while taking Irunin orally, as some drugs may reduce the activity of itraconazole. A similar effect occurs with low acidity. In this case, it is recommended to drink antacids two hours before taking the capsules.

Overdose

There are no data on overdose manifestations. If the number of capsules prescribed is exceeded or accidentally swallowed, it is necessary to rinse the stomach and take activated carbon or another adsorbent.

An integrated approach to treatment and prevention

In order for taking antifungal agents to bring the desired result, you must follow the following recommendations:

  • do not overcool;
  • avoid stress;
  • follow a diet that excludes the consumption of baked goods, sweets, and canned food;
  • promptly treat all infectious and inflammatory diseases;
  • stop wearing synthetic underwear;
  • use pH-neutral gels for daily intimate hygiene;
  • carry out rehabilitation therapy after treatment of candidiasis.

To normalize the natural microflora of the vagina, you can use drugs based on lactic acid, for example, Ginocomfort or Lactagel. To strengthen general and local immunity, it is recommended to use “Viferon” or “Genferon” suppositories after prior consultation with a doctor.

There are many medications available to treat vaginal candidiasis. Irunin also belongs to them. Schemes have been developed for how to take Irunin for thrush; they should be selected individually by the attending physician.

What is Irunin

The active substance of the drug Irunin is itraconazole. Each capsule (round microgranules coated with a shell) contains 100 mg of this substance. In addition to the main substance, Irunin contains hypromellose, eudragit, nilagin, nipazole, sucrose, and starch. Yellow capsules are filled with white pellets.

Suppositories or vaginal tablets of the drug contain 200 mg of the active substance, since it is more difficult for it to penetrate through the mucous membranes. Additionally, starch, titanium oxide, and white petroleum jelly are present.

Intraconazole is a synthetic substance, one of the triazole derivatives. This is a broad-spectrum drug aimed against pathogens of fungal infections. Insoluble in water and alcohol, it is fat soluble.

This substance inhibits the synthesis of one of the components of the fungal cell membrane (ergosterol), preventing its reproduction. Dermatophytes, yeast-like fungi, yeast, aspergillus, histoplasma, pathogens of paracoccidiosis and candidiasis (C. albicans, C. krusei, C. giabrata) and other molds and yeasts are sensitive to it.

Capsules are taken only after a heavy meal, when the drug is best absorbed into the blood and reaches its highest concentration in the blood plasma after 3-4 hours. It is eliminated from the body within 2–3 days. But in the vaginal mucosa the substance remains for 2 weeks after the end of the course of treatment and for 3 days if the drug was taken only twice in one day.

Use of Irunin for candidiasis

To treat vulvovaginal candidiasis, capsules, vaginal tablets or suppositories are used.

Vulvovaginal thrush is a lesion of the mucous membranes of the vagina and its vestibule by spores of fungi of the genus Candida, which is accompanied by a cheesy discharge of white or gray color, itching and burning in the external genital area, painful sensations during urination and sexual intercourse.

Provoking factors are taking antibacterial or hormonal drugs, diabetes mellitus, and improper intimate hygiene. When thrush is complicated by other fungal diseases or when it is difficult to make a diagnosis, broad-spectrum drugs such as Irunin are prescribed.

As already mentioned, Irunin capsules should be taken only after meals and as a whole. Opening capsules and removing pellets is unacceptable.

The dose for the treatment of thrush is 2 capsules of 100 mg at a time, twice a day. If a relapse occurs, you should take the drug 2 capsules at a time, 1 time per day for 3 days. This will ensure a longer presence of the therapeutic concentration of the drug in the blood plasma and in the mucous membranes of the vulva and vagina.

With reduced acidity of gastric juice, Irunin may partially lose its effectiveness due to impaired absorption of intraconazole. Therefore, if the patient, in addition to drugs for thrush, is forced to drink drugs that neutralize hydrochloric acid or anticholinergic drugs, she can drink Irunin only 2 hours after taking antacid drugs. If Introconazole must be combined with histamine receptor blockers, capsules of the drug for thrush should be taken with Coca-Cola.

People with immune deficiency (those with AIDS or neutropenia, those who have had an organ transplant) may need an increased dose of the drug or an extension of the course of treatment.

Vaginal suppositories or Irunin tablets are used once a day, before bedtime, after intimate hygiene and douching, to remove cheesy discharge characteristic of candidiasis. The drug is injected as deep as possible into the vagina, in a lying position, the course of treatment is 5–7 days. The completion of the course is carried out only by the decision of the attending physician after examination. He also decides to extend the course to 14 days. Clinical manifestations of thrush (itching and discharge) recede already on the second day of treatment. When menstruation occurs, suppositories are replaced with capsules for oral use.

Contraindications and side effects

Possible side effects from the digestive system:

Side effects related to the nervous system:

  • dizziness;
  • headache;
  • peripheral neuropathy.

People with a history of diabetes mellitus, an allergy to any of the components of the drug, heart, kidney or liver failure are recommended to choose another medicine for the treatment of candidiasis. It is also undesirable for pregnant women to take the drug; nursing mothers are not prescribed Irulin because of its ability to pass into milk.

Possible side effects include dysmenorrhea, hypocalcemia, alopecia, dark urine, hypercreatininemia, edema and loss of strength.

Simultaneous use of the drug Irunin and Terfenadine, Mizolastine, Cisapride, Dofetilide, Miconazole, Astemizole, Quinidine and Triazolam, which are absorbed with the participation of the cytochrome P450 3A4 enzyme, as well as indirect coagulants such as Cyclosporine A, Methylprednisolone and Digoxin, enhances and prolongs the effect of the latter.

Cytochrome inhibitors, such as Indinavir, Ritonavir and Clarithromycin, increase the bioavailability of Irunin, and stimulators of oxidation in liver cells, such as Isoniazid, Rifampicin and others, reduce it.

It is forbidden to combine Irunin with Cisapride, since the toxicity of the latter increases, and there is a possibility of developing gastric arrhythmia.

Do not forget that common thrush is often a complication of an underlying, more dangerous disease, so effective treatment of candidiasis should begin with a complete examination of the patient to identify complicating and provoking factors.

Irunin is a broad-spectrum antifungal drug. Triazole derivative. The drug inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol in the cell membrane of fungi and is active against dermatophytes (Microsporum spp., Trichophyton spp., Epidermophyton floccosum), yeast fungi Candida spp. (Candida glabrata, Candida albicans, Candida krusei), mold fungi (Cryptococcus neoformans, Histoplasma spp., Aspergillus spp., Paracoccidioides brasiliensis, Fonsecaea spp., Sporothrix schenckii, Cladosporium spp., Blastomyces dermatidis).

The concentration of the drug in the skin remains for 2-4 weeks after stopping the course of treatment. In nail keratin, a week after the start of treatment, it remains for 6 months. The therapeutic concentration in the vagina remains for 2 days after three days of treatment. The drug is excreted with feces (3-18%), with the kidneys - less than 0.03%. 35% is excreted as metabolites in urine in one week.
