I would like to thank a wonderful neurosurgeon - Shimansky Vadim Nikolaevich! Not only a brilliant specialist, but also a wonderful person. Saved my grandmother (68 years old) from hellish facial pain (trigeminal neuralgia)! Prior to that, I took her for consultations to 3 neurosurgeons, they could not decide who to go to for the operation. There were doubts and fears. One of the doctors recommended not to take risks and not agree to the operation at all, since the operation is complicated (microvascular decompression of the trigeminal nerve root), and advised me to continue taking pills. Although it was very difficult for my grandmother to cope with the side effects from them. Grandmother endured pain for 6 years, took medicine, could not even wash her face normally in the morning, brush her teeth, was afraid to go outside in the sun and during the wind. All the time she lived in fear and tension that the attack of pain would happen again. Over the past 5-6 months, she became very ill, the pain manifested itself even when talking, laughing. She just sat at home, missed her grandchildren's birthdays, felt very bad about it and completely lost hope. On the recommendation, they found Vadim Nikolayevich, and decided to sign her up for a consultation with him. They arrived at the appointed time. After discussion and reflection with the family, we decided to call the surgical assistant and inform that we were ready for hospitalization. They came for a second consultation to Vadim Nikolayevich (free of charge). We talked again, showed all the tests, chose the date of the operation, and after 10-12 days went to bed. The next morning, my grandmother was operated on, everything went well. After the operation, he was attentive, came every day! Grandmother got rid of terrible pains, sometimes there are tingling sensations (they warned about this, mild pains and tingling may be for about another six months, everyone individually, and you need to take pills all this time, but already low doses, and, accordingly, there are no side effects). They kept him in the hospital for another five days. All the nurses are just wonderful, they take care of you like a native person, help, soothe. The attending resident doctor (Dombaanay Bayyr Sergeevich) is very attentive, left his phone, listened all the time if the grandmother had questions in the postoperative period. Also thanks to the assistant surgeon (Abdurahimov Firuz Davronovich). On August 13, 2017 my son (40 years old) suddenly passed out. He was hospitalized in City Clinical Hospital No. 4 of the city of Kursk, then to the regional hospital. Examination showed the presence of a large aneurysm in the right middle cerebral artery. After the hemorrhage, the left side began to work poorly. On September 14, we received a referral to Moscow at the Research Institute of Neurosurgery. Burdenko for an operation to clip this aneurysm. We were consulted in absentia by Konovalov Anton Nikolaevich. The operation was scheduled for October 12, 2017. We began to wait for the quota. Anton Nikolayevich was in touch with us all the time by the phone number indicated in the direction for hospitalization. We turned to him for all questions, and he himself called us if there were changes. We were not given a quota by October 12, and the operation was postponed to October 18. We were very worried, because we were afraid that the aneurysm would rupture again. We arrived at the Burdenko Research Institute on October 18 in the morning. There were a lot of people at the pass office, a long queue. The pass office is open from 9-00, but on that day the office staff started working at 8-30, and at 9-00 we were already at the doctor who registered us for hospitalization. In Kursk, we passed all the tests according to the list and according to the terms indicated in the referral for hospitalization and signed by Konovalov A.N. But the receiving doctor ordered us to take some tests again. They seem to be out of date. Analyzes are paid. They were ready by 2pm. We paid 7800 rubles. But I'm in favor, I understand that we need a picture of the patient's state of health today. I am for it". It's not about the money. Simply it should be stipulated at once in a direction on hospitalization at consultation. Then we would not have taken these tests in our city and would not have made extra holes in the body. Everyone who was hospitalized had to retake some tests for about the same amount. Who will go to Burdenko, know that anyway, some tests will have to be retaken. Take money. Of course, waiting for test results, hospitalization takes a lot of time. But there are comfortable chairs in the halls, it is spacious, there are toilets, on the 4th floor there is a cafe where it is not expensive, but the food is excellent. After receiving the test results, the son was hospitalized in the 3rd department. The room is double. The room has two beds, 2 bedside tables, 2 chairs, 2 tables. Toilet and shower for 2 rooms. Very clean. The beds are comfortable, the backs are movable. Linen is new. If you need to change, then change at least every day. The staff is wonderful. There is no foreign smell in the wards and in the corridor. Only the smell of freshness. Nurses and nurses are very polite. I went to find out when my son will be operated on and who will operate. I was told that Yury Viktorovich Pilipenko would operate, and that the operation was scheduled for tomorrow. The attending physician Varyukhina Maria Dmitrievna. I sat in the ward until six in the evening, I wanted to talk to the doctors about the upcoming operation, but I didn’t wait for anyone. It turned out that all the doctors were on the operation. They have operations there around the clock. They came to their son at eight o'clock in the evening. We settled in a hotel, which is located on the territory of the research institute. It is very comfortable. The hotel is not expensive. Double room costs 2200 per night. There are other rooms, but we lived in this one. 4 rooms shower, toilet. There is a lounge, a kitchen with a microwave. The room has two beds, two bedside tables, two chairs, a table, a large bedside table, a closet, a hallway, a refrigerator, a kettle, and dishes. Everything is very clean, convenient, comfortable. Very polite, friendly administrator Maslova Irina Mikhailovna. We made an application for accommodation in advance (a month before), and all this month she was in touch with us. We are very grateful to her for her kind attitude towards the residents. On the morning of October 19, we arrived at our son's ward at 9:00. But he was already taken to the operating room. The operation lasted 5 hours. After the operation, the son was taken to the intensive care unit. The operating neurosurgeon Pilipenko Yuri Viktorovich informed us that the operation was successful. Who else was in the team, I don’t know who did the anesthesia, too, and I saw Pilipenko for the first time after the operation, but many thanks to everyone. In the evening we came to inquire about the health of our son. The doctor (I don't know his last name) who was in the office graciously agreed to help us. He called the intensive care unit and told us that everything is fine, your child is conscious and breathing on his own. Yuri Viktorovich and Maria Dmitrievna visited their son every day several times: they checked his condition, listened to complaints, advised him what to do and how to do it. While the son was bedridden, we were in the ward around the clock. There was something to sit on, they found something to sleep on. I liked the good attitude of all employees of the clinic towards patients and caregivers. Next to our ward there was a ward where a seriously ill woman was lying, and there were no relatives nearby. The nurses took very good care of her. I have never seen in any hospital that the medical staff looked after me like that: they washed, and fed, and combed, and just talked to the patient. I especially liked the orderly or nurse Oksana (sorry, I don’t know either her last name or patronymic). She blew dust particles right off this patient. We have grown accustomed to this attitude from the medical staff in our hospitals. I got the impression that in this hospital everything is at the highest level, from the locker room to the operating room. We were in Burdenko until October 26 (8 days). On the day of discharge, Yuri Viktorovich came to us early because he had an operation in the morning. He told us what to do and what not to do in connection with this operation. Gave us recommendations for rehabilitation, gave us his phone number. During our entire stay in Burdenko, no one has ever demanded money from us, no one has even hinted at it. Everyone just professionally did their job, that's all. The purpose of my letter is to inspire hope in the hearts of those who have suffered the same misfortune as we have.
