Minimum water pressure in the apartment. What is the normal water pressure in the apartment? What to consider when choosing plumbing fixtures

In modern apartments, owners use non-standard solutions to create comfort. For example, gas boilers are used as equipment to supplement unreliable central heating and hot water supply. In such cases, gas heat generators are usually installed in the kitchen. We’ll talk further about how to succinctly fit them into the overall design.

Ways to hide

So, the owners purchased a wall-mounted gas boiler. It is planned to install equipment in the kitchen, in parallel with the output of a special coaxial chimney pipe immediately behind the main wall, horizontally to the street. Let's see what ways there are to hide the mounted unit.

If the boiler fits into the overall environment, it is not necessary to hide it

  1. Of course, the best option is to place the heat generator in a specially made cabinet, which in design completely replicates all parts of the kitchen unit.
  2. You can make a metal frame, cover it with plasterboard, hide the boiler inside this niche, and then hang the door. It should also replicate the appearance of the façades of the set.
  3. There is an option to finish the front surface of the boiler: paint it or cover it with film.
  4. Finally, all you need to do is hang the heat generator somewhere on the side of the headset if its color matches the dominant tones. In this case, the gas unit will look in accordance with the overall style of the kitchen.

But the decision on the design of the part of the room with the boiler must, of course, be made before the installation of the unit begins. At the same time, it is necessary to think through the lining of communications in advance. How to cover a gas pipe and electrical connection? We will also talk about this in the process of presenting the instructions.

And now let’s proceed, in fact, to the description of the procedures for “infusing” the boiler into the overall picture.

Hiding the set in the kitchen cabinet

If the decision is made to place the gas apparatus in the hinged element corresponding to the one provided, then a stumbling block immediately appears. When the boiler is installed inside designer kitchen furniture, the main problem is the need to make the cabinet according to individual dimensions. Next, we will describe the process of manufacturing such a link from chipboard.

Tools and accessories that will be useful in the work are listed below:

  • Roulette;
  • Jigsaw;
  • Furniture self-tapping bolts;
  • Electric drill with drills and wood bit;
  • Set of hexagons;
  • Chipboard;
  • Two slats;
  • Standard kitchen front, that is, a door of the desired color;
  • Two furniture hinges;
  • Cabinet canopy kit;
  • Iron and furniture decorative tape-edging.

Let's start the procedure:

Gas boiler inside cabinet

How to close a boiler using drywall

This method is similar to the previous one, only instead of chipboard walls, plasterboard bases are mounted, and then the facade is also hung on them. To make such a design, we will need accessories from the following list:

  • Metal profiles for fastening drywall;
  • GKL board;
  • The facade of our kitchen unit;
  • Hinges to secure this door;
  • Screwdriver;
  • Self-tapping screws.

We begin the procedure before installing the boiler.

  1. Parallel to the proposed walls of the boiler, retreating 5 cm from them, we mount a frame of profiles. The technology for assembling such structures is simple: the metal elements are connected using self-tapping screws and are also attached to the kitchen wall.
  2. We cut sheets of plasterboard to size and screw them to the assembled frames.
  3. In one of the resulting side walls we make recesses for attaching hinges. The latter must be screwed to the profile.
  4. Now you can install the boiler.
  5. The last operation will be hanging the facade.

The disadvantages of this method include the inconvenience of installing the heat generator, as well as the excessive thickness of the plasterboard side walls produced in the described process.

Other options and masking of communications

In addition to the methods discussed, there are still the simplest ones, when you can finish the front surface of the boiler or it matches the color. Here are some recommendations regarding these methods.

If you decide to cover the front part of the heat generator with a special film to match the color of the headset, then you need to act very carefully. To avoid air bubbles, on such a coating it is necessary to start gluing from the top and carefully smooth out every centimeter. At the end of the procedure, the protruding edges of the film can be carefully trimmed with a stationery knife.

The disadvantages of this method are obvious:

  • It is difficult to find a film with a color identical to the kitchen set.
  • This coating is not durable.
  • You may lose the service warranty for the boiler.

As for painting the front wall of the boiler, this option is perhaps only suitable for old equipment that has been hanging in the kitchen for a long time. After all, it’s unlikely that anyone will decide to repaint a new unit under warranty.

But if you still decide to cover the facade of the boiler with enamel, you must first clean the surface with sandpaper and degrease it with white spirit. Since the body of the heating unit is usually metal, it is better to use nitro enamel.

In many design options, the gas boiler is simply hung on the side, in the far corner, or somewhere between the cabinets. Its color may even differ from the tone of the headset, but the unit will still fit organically into the overall style. For example, if the gas boiler is white and the furniture is a different color, but there are white elements in the kitchen, then everything can work out quite well.

Open gas boiler

We did not touch upon another important point: how to hide the communications of a heat generator? But everything is simple here. It is enough to “sew” a gas pipe and an electric cable, as well as other possible lines, into a decorative box. Elements for such structures are standard and are sold in construction hypermarkets.

An original solution would be to design an installed box as additional lighting for a kitchen unit or a pole to hold any awnings. However, it must be remembered that the gas pipe must always be easily accessible.

One of the options is a cabinet for tea, spices and a boiler. Thanks to the clear geometry, the boiler does not seem out of place. An original solution with a niche on the side of the kitchen. The boiler and communications are inside a large cabinet.
Boiler inside a stylish set

We talked about how to hide or decorate a gas boiler in the kitchen. When starting this process, give free rein to your imagination. Based on our recommendations, you can come up with your own design or improve one of the above methods. After all, there are no restrictions on the flight of thought here.

A gas boiler, which is most often installed in a private home in a kitchen, is one of the most popular types of equipment for installing autonomous heating and hot water supply systems. That is why the request for how to hide a gas boiler in the kitchen (photo) is quite popular in search engines.

Today, there are quite a large number of ways to hide a boiler in the interior of a kitchen in which such equipment is installed. When choosing one of the methods for arranging a kitchen with a boiler, you should focus both on the parameters of the room where such a device is installed, and on the characteristics of the boiler equipment itself that needs to be hidden.

Options for arranging a kitchen with a gas boiler

When wondering how to hide a gas boiler in the kitchen, you can use one of the most popular ways to solve such a technical and creative problem at the same time. Most often, the need to solve such a problem is encountered in cases where the kitchen is to be renovated, its layout is changed, or a new kitchen set is ordered. In such cases, there is a need to decorate the kitchen interior in a single stylistic solution and disguise or decorate all elements of this interior that do not correspond to a single style.

One of the fairly common ways to decorate gas boiler equipment mounted on a kitchen wall is to place it in a separate cabinet. To hide unsightly appliances, the front part is decorated in the same style as the kitchen unit. This method can also be applied to a floor heating boiler, which can also be hidden behind a separate cabinet. Its dimensions must correspond to the dimensions of the boiler equipment.

When deciding to hide the wall-mounted mechanism in a wall cabinet, you should adhere to certain requirements, which are as follows:

  1. The side and front surfaces of the boiler must be located at a distance of at least 30 mm from the inner walls of the cabinet.
  2. There should be no top or bottom panels in the cabinet in which equipment must be hidden. This is necessary to ensure effective ventilation of the internal space of such a furniture element.
  3. The walls and door of the cabinet in which you plan to hide the boiler must be made of material characterized by good fire resistance.

You can also hide an AGV boiler mounted on a wall or installed on the floor of a kitchen using a special box, the walls of which are made of plasterboard. The door of such a box can be decorated in the same style as the kitchen set. The dimensions of the box must correspond to the dimensions of the gas boiler, since it must be completely hidden.

How to hide a gas boiler in an already formed kitchen interior? A good option is to paint its surface in the color of the headset itself. In this case, the white or black glossy surface of the boiler can be painted in almost any color using acrylic paint from a spray can. After painting, the surface of the gas boiler will also become glossy, like all other surfaces of the kitchen unit. The disadvantage of this method is that such an acrylic coating will have to be renewed periodically, and the equipment can only be hidden visually by matching it in color with the furnishings.

To make the design of a kitchen with a gas boiler more vibrant and individual, you can not cover the boiler with panels and cabinets, but decorate its surface using the decoupage technique. This way to hide a boiler is perfect for the kitchen of a creative person who can complement its design with original hand-made accessories. As a rule, this method of decorating the surface of heating equipment is used in cases where the interior of a kitchen with a gas boiler on the wall or floor is made in country or Provence style.

Ways to disguise communications

If the task is to decorate a kitchen with a boiler, then you should also think about how to hide the communications through which gas and water flow into the heating equipment. There are several ways to hide communications.

  1. Make boxes from chipboard or plasterboard that will hide communications. The algorithm of actions in this case is as follows: we make boxes according to the size of the inlet and outlet pipes and hide all the elements of the communication system under them. The outer walls of such boxes, so that they do not stand out from the already formed interior, are decorated to match the color of the kitchen furniture or the walls of the room.
  2. Purchase ready-made casings specifically designed to hide elements of communication systems.

Thus, there are many answers to the question of how to close or hide the heating equipment that a kitchen with a gas boiler is equipped with, and whether it can be done independently. You can choose a solution to this problem in accordance with your taste preferences and financial capabilities.

Equipment installation requirements

When installing a gas boiler in a kitchen, you must strictly adhere to the relevant standards and regulations. Failure to comply can have serious consequences. The essence of such requirements is as follows.

  • The area of the kitchen in which the boiler can be hidden must be at least 4 m2, and the ceiling height in such a room must be at least 2.5 m.
  • The kitchen room in which it is planned to use a gas boiler must be equipped with a door with convection holes and a window with a window.
  • When equipping a kitchen with a boiler, there must be a device that reacts to a gas leak and emits a corresponding signal.
  • In kitchen areas it is prohibited to install gas heating equipment with a power exceeding 60 kW, while the relevant standards allow installation both on the wall and on the floor surface.
  • Installation of gas heating equipment on a wall is permitted if its surface is made of non-combustible material.
  • If you decide to install a gas boiler in the kitchen, you need to ensure that such equipment is not located close to the walls of the kitchen cabinets. This is necessary both to ensure air circulation and to minimize the risk of fire in kitchen elements. There must be a certain distance between the walls of such elements and the panels of the boiler body, which must be provided for at the stage of designing the kitchen interior and ordering furniture for its arrangement.

And finally, a couple of videos on the topic of camouflaging a gas boiler and communication pipes.

The loft includes antique brickwork, trendy or antique furniture. It is distinguished by its simplicity in the design of the walls, ceilings and floors. For clarity, it can easily be equated with Provence. This style is varied in its elements., it is inconsistent in detail and widely used in practice.

Historical reference

Loft originated in the first half of the twentieth century. The foreign origin of the name of the style, translated into Russian, is an attic. Load-bearing structures were not plastered, leaving it in its original condition. The beams that support the roof were not covered, since the upper floor is intended for old unnecessary things. During the economic crisis, attics and attics were occupied. This happened with other objects as well.

Unclaimed abandoned industrial buildings that appeared in America in the forties were passed on to citizens in need of housing. Having mastered them, the layout, unacceptable for these purposes, was left unchanged.

Modern directions

In the technology of building houses with one and a half or two floors, attics have become popular. The need to use the entire area of the house led to their reconstruction. This made it possible to make them residential. The Minimalist style, corresponding to Loft, has found application in the design of these buildings as rooms.

Advantage

Using this method, the cost of renovation in the Loft style will become economical. Without purchasing expensive finishing materials, they use what they have, correctly adjusting individual parts of the building.

When reconstructing a previously used building, all brick walls are left in their original form. Their coated with varnish or water-based paint, wanting to give them a light shade. Natural stone, brick or old whitewash complement a modern or antique interior in the Minimalist style. Against the background of such walls, individual elements look trendy.

The kitchen should contain only household items that have a direct functional purpose. Its modern version is complemented by a gas boiler for heating water. When making a design project, the reconstructed space is left spacious. It is filled with functional furnishings. If pipes for heating and hot water are not connected to the house on a general basis, special equipment is installed in it to compensate for this gap.

Design project with a gas boiler

Family members often gather in the kitchen. It is convenient to make a dining room if the areas are large. Create with gas boiler design it is possible in spaces using zoning, dividing it into functional territories. This is done with the help of finishing materials, lighting, plumbing equipment, furniture and household appliances. Selecting a work area means concentrating items related to cooking and storing household utensils in one of them. For the integrity of each individual territory, it is supplemented with light elements.

Work zone

The central part of it is an apron on the wall, which is placed above the stove and sink. I recommend choosing a material for its design that is similar in style. A boiler is installed on the side of the sink. Depending on what it is, its fastening depends. In this case, the water supply is uninterrupted. To enhance to achieve this effect, a circular pump is connected to the water supply. The floor in the proposed style is laid according to it. To do this, use tiles or porcelain tiles imitating old boards.

A kitchen with a gas boiler can be aesthetically decorated. To do this, the unit is coated with matte metal paint in light colors. To do this, use shades of matte steel, bronze or shine. A design is applied to the outer body with a stencil. It is also painted by hand. Ready-made stickers will be a convenient help, creating the necessary color in the kitchen.

One of the equipment placement options is using the opening between wall cabinets, leaving the outer casing free for air access and preventative control over its operation. Devices installed underneath must be visible.

Place the heating apparatus in a fake cabinet. It's easy to make. The two sides are connected with a lattice door, leaving the upper part free. To protect against heat, a foil cover is made inside.

  • The volume of the boiler depends on the need for water supply.
  • When developing the project, the safety requirements for placing a gas boiler are taken into account.
  • In a private house, water heating equipment can be used for contour heating and domestic needs.
  • The boiler is installed in a place convenient for preventive maintenance.
  • It is not hidden in a closed cabinet or mounted above the stove.
  • Frequent ventilation of the room will ensure the environment in it.
  • A floor-standing unit will require less imagination to disguise it.
  • Non-flammable material is used for the walls and floor adjacent to the heating apparatus.

What's the best way to hide pipes?

  • They are not recommended to be hidden in walls.
  • Gas pipes are laid in an open way.
  • They must be visible.
  • They are placed under the furniture, making an angular cut at the base.
  • Plasterboard coverings for pipes will provide an aesthetic perception of the interior.
  • They are made in the form of a box.
  • The gas pipeline is not used as a support.
  • They are painted in those colors that enliven the interior.
  • Glass blocks will hide the equipment without disturbing the integrity of the space.

Conclusion

The installation and installation of a set of technological gas equipment is entrusted to professionals. They will remove the chimney pipes, insulate and insulate it. The company will supply the equipment for which they will be responsible. After putting the unit into operation, the customer will not have to worry, since warranty service will be provided for a year without additional investment. The quality of the installation determines its service life and the safety of the residents of the house.

Gas boilers are installed not only in their homes, but also in apartments in order to have autonomous heating. Many people find this solution not only more reliable, but also much more economical than a central heating system. A gas boiler, according to operating rules, must be located in a non-residential premises. In apartments these are usually kitchens. Modern boilers do not spoil the design of kitchens, but many owners still try to hide and decorate them. Do not forget that gas equipment carries a certain danger, so compliance with safety standards is always more important than the aesthetic purpose of the boiler.

Gas boilers: why are they needed and can they be installed?

Heating boilers in apartments, private houses, and cottages allow you to create an autonomous heating system. This is not only convenient, but also helps you save money on utility bills. Installing a boiler is not too expensive, but requires compliance with certain standards and coordination with gas services. Any boiler has a heating part, that is, a burner, so it is extremely important to follow safety rules when looking for ways to hide a gas boiler in the kitchen.

Many people are afraid to install gas boilers, considering them unsafe or expensive, but modern models are equipped with a huge number of functions and sensors that make the operation of the device as safe as possible. You can choose an inexpensive model, but it is worth considering that when choosing such a unit, cheapness is not the main criterion.

Installing your own boiler at home is not prohibited by law, but there are many additional conditions.

  • You need to obtain permission from the gas service. Usually such permission is given without problems if all equipment is in working order.
  • The boiler can only be placed in non-residential premises. Boilers cannot be placed in bedrooms and living rooms, so they are usually placed in the kitchen, which is considered a non-residential premises.
  • A gas boiler will not be allowed to be placed in the kitchen-living room and loft apartment. But modern developers use a little trick and point out that the kitchen-living room is actually a kitchen-dining room, and the dining room is also recognized as a non-residential premises.
  • There should be a window in the kitchen. Any kitchen in an apartment has a window, but usually this criterion is still specified. If this is a kitchen located in the hallway, a window is also required. Moreover, modern plastic windows with easily opened vents are considered more preferable. It is this need for ventilation that creates difficulties when looking for options on how to hide an individual heating boiler in the kitchen.
  • The ceiling in the kitchen should be made of non-combustible materials. Usually this is drywall or special paint. Stretch ceilings in kitchens with gas boilers are prohibited. A gas boiler has a burner and in case of fire the fire is directed upward. In this case, the stretch ceiling will quickly begin to melt, creating additional harmful fumes.
  • There should be a door in the kitchen. It is imperative to separate the kitchen with a gas boiler from other rooms. You cannot replace a door with an arch or curtain. In this case, there should be no threshold so that air can circulate freely.

There are 3 common types of gas boilers recommended for installation in the kitchen. They all differ in type of action, efficiency, power, noise level and other characteristics. Price also plays an important role when choosing a boiler. Modern boiler models already come with a decorative casing, so there is no need to figure out how to hide the boiler in the kitchen. If you choose the right boiler from the beginning, it will be easier to install, use and hide.

If you are replacing an old boiler with a new one, be sure to get permission to do so. Sometimes modern models require additional equipment, which should be taken into account when replacing.

  • Atmospheric convection boiler. Inexpensive option, but has several disadvantages. One disadvantage is the open burner. That is, the air in the room simply “burns out.” Such a boiler is extremely difficult to hide or disguise because it requires constant ventilation. It cannot be completely closed, otherwise it will begin to overheat. Such boilers are suitable for a spacious kitchen; they cannot be placed in small rooms. When choosing such a boiler, try to immediately buy a model with a decorative body, since you will not be able to hide it.
  • Turbocharged boiler. This boiler has a closed burner, which looks much more aesthetically pleasing. There are much fewer requirements for installing such a boiler. It can be placed even in small kitchens, but installation will require certain skills and costs. Such boilers require separate ventilation, that is, they themselves take air from the street and then discharge it back. This is convenient and safe, but you will have to hide not only the boiler, but also the ventilation pipes. Also, one of the disadvantages of such a boiler is the rather high noise level due to constantly running fans.
  • Condensing boiler. One of the safest and most convenient options. It will be easier to disguise the boiler in the kitchen, since it is closed and will not burn oxygen in the kitchen. But such a boiler requires connection to the sewage system, since during its operation a large amount of liquid is released, which needs to be removed somewhere. Such boilers have high efficiency and are not very noisy, but they are difficult to install and are quite expensive. It will have to be placed taking into account the location of the sewerage system.

Floor-standing gas boilers are usually very large. Most often the question arises of how to hide a boiler in a kitchen in a corner, since it is the corner location that allows you to place a boiler in the kitchen without taking up much extra space. According to the rules, such a bulky boiler requires a separate room, but not everyone has the opportunity to provide it.

It is much more difficult to disguise a floor-standing boiler than a wall-mounted one, since in a small room it is more than noticeable. Various cabinets will only further reduce the space. There are several ideas on how to hide a floor-standing gas boiler in the kitchen without damaging the interior.

  • Brick niche. If you want to make the boiler invisible without taking up extra space, you can build a brick niche for the boiler itself and pipes. However, this method has a lot of difficulties. It is not always possible to make a niche, since the integrity of the wall will be compromised. Floor-standing boilers have grates on the body that are extremely undesirable to close, so a brick niche is not always an option.
  • Purchased special box. You can find a special box for a specific boiler model. Usually they try to purchase such a casing for an old boiler that has an unaesthetic appearance. However, you need to remember that older boilers do not always allow covering, so the box may not be suitable. At the next inspection, the gas service may shut off the gas and impose a fine. To avoid problems, you can mask only the boiler pipes with a box, but leaving access to them.
  • Closet. Modern, safer models can be hidden using furniture. When ordering a kitchen set, you can even order a separate module specifically for the boiler. It is desirable that it does not have a back wall. The difficulty is that such a cabinet will take up a certain place in the kitchen and reduce the amount of free space.
  • Dye. If no closing boxes and cabinets suit you, buy suitable paint and paint the boiler in the color of the walls or kitchen unit. This is convenient if you have an old floor-standing boiler, since new models come with a beautiful body that does not require painting. If desired, you can paint the boiler with patterns, but be careful when using decorative stickers and do not cover the ventilation grilles.

Wall-mounted boilers are more compact and modern, so there are a lot of options for hiding a wall-mounted gas boiler in the kitchen. Before choosing one option or another, make sure that it is safe and will not interfere with the operation of the boiler itself. It is best to invite a specialist for consultation.

In essence, the methods of masking a wall-mounted boiler are no different from a floor-standing one, but the process itself will be somewhat different. Wall-mounted boilers are more difficult to install.

  • Locker. The simplest and most aesthetic way is a hanging cabinet without a back wall. This method is convenient because the cabinet opens easily, which means access to the boiler itself is not limited, and no one will fine you. When ordering a kitchen set, you can separately order a decorative module for a gas boiler. It will be lighter and made exactly according to the measurements of the boiler. Do not forget that the cabinet itself should be slightly larger than the boiler so that there is air circulation. Some people place the boiler in a large cabinet that does not lose its functionality. But it is not recommended to store food in such a cabinet.
  • Plasterboard box. It is quite easy to hide the boiler in the kitchen using drywall yourself. Cheap and easy option. Working with drywall is easy even for a beginner, but be sure to make the box openable, since access to gas equipment must be free.
  • Niche. It is not recommended to make a niche in the wall yourself without special permission. You can damage the wall and make it thinner, which is prohibited by safety regulations. However, in new buildings they began to make special niches that can be used. If the niche is deep enough, you don’t even have to hang a cabinet. It is easy to cover the case with some kind of curtain that will not interfere with ventilation.
  • Decoration. You can paint the cauldron or cover it with cling film if it is heat-resistant enough. However, remember that after such decoration your boiler will lose its service warranty. According to the documents, the boiler looked different, so if it breaks, it will not be accepted back. The latest boiler models have a fairly stylish body, so it’s worth reconsidering whether it’s worth changing.

When choosing an idea on how to hide a gas boiler in the kitchen, also take into account the type of boiler and safety rules. First of all, a gas boiler is a complex piece of equipment, not a decorative element.

We should also talk about how to hide the pipes of a gas boiler. This is a more complex process. What is the camouflage of the equipment itself? Pipes are usually made of plastic or metal, and there are always several of them. They greatly disturb the interior of the kitchen, but at the same time they cannot be hidden completely; in the event of a gas leak, they must be accessible.

  • Box. You can make a separate box for the pipes, or you can come up with a larger box so that both the pipes and the body fit in it. It is not necessary to build a whole closet with a large door. An ordinary box can be easily decorated with paint or film. But pay attention to where the gas shut-off valve is located, and leave a small window or small door there.
  • Furniture. If you're in the planning stages, consider all your options in advance. When installing any gas boiler, even a wall-mounted one, you can ask to run the pipes along the bottom. Then, when ordering a kitchen set, it will be enough to indicate where to make the slots for the pipes.
  • Niche. Both the boiler itself and the pipes can be placed in a niche if it is already in the wall. To hide the equipment, make a small plasterboard or metal screen (openable or easily removable), hang blinds or something else.
  • Railings. If the pipes are still not at the bottom, but in the middle of the wall, use a railing system. Cover the pipes with a special stainless coating and fit the hooks. Naturally, the pipe must not be damaged. You can hang oven mitts, towels, light small metal objects, plastic spatulas, etc. on the hooks.
  • Decoration. Pipes can be decorated to resemble a tree, giraffe, vine, etc. The paint adheres well to the pipes, and it can also be repainted if desired. You can also use other materials, for example, mosaic, but try not to overdo it with the decor, make sure that the functionality of the pipe is not affected.

You cannot try to hide pipes in the wall and wall them up completely; this is a gross violation of safety rules. There is a valve on the gas pipes that must be accessible at all times. If during the inspection it turns out that the pipes are covered with non-removable surfaces, you will be issued a fine and obligated to redo everything.

The heating boiler, if it does not fit into the overall interior of the kitchen, can be hidden. But not all methods are suitable for this. For example, it can be installed in a kitchen set only if the dimensions of one of the cabinets match the design of the boiler. If this is not possible, you will have to look for other methods of disguise.

Installation Rules

Before we talk about how to hide a boiler, you need to find out what rules and regulations exist in relation to its installation. If you don't follow them, everything can end very sadly. The first thing you should pay attention to is the space in which the installation will be carried out: its size must be at least 4 m2, and its height must be more than 2.5 m. But you should also take care of installing a special device that can notify you in the event of a gas leak.

When purchasing a boiler, you need to take into account that its power should not exceed 60 kW. Installation of equipment can be carried out on a wall or prepared floor. The system should not be placed close to cabinets, as there must be free space for good air circulation. Please note that if your house has wooden floors, then the wall that is allocated for installation must be covered with a sheet of metal.

What other rules must be followed:

  • the distance to the cooking stove or refrigerator should be at least 30 cm;
  • the unit must be placed at a distance of 1.6 m or more from the meter;
  • The socket intended for boiler operation must be placed 1 m from the installation.

As soon as everything is installed and communications are connected, experts strongly recommend checking the chimney’s functionality again. The safe operation of the device directly depends on this.

Options

So, after the owners have purchased a new boiler, plans begin to install the equipment. Most often, a standard white unit has a negative impact on the appearance of the interior, so owners think about how to fit it into the overall design.

So, the design of the corner where the boiler will be installed must be organized even before the heating device is installed.

Of course, the best solution would be to install it in a special cabinet, which will be made in accordance with the design of the rest of the set. But a specially prepared metal frame can also be installed, which will be lined with plasterboard. A boiler is hung inside such a niche, and last of all, a door is installed on it, which will also repeat the appearance of the kitchen furniture. There is an option for finishing the front panel of the boiler. It can be painted or decorated with self-adhesive. And the simplest solution would be to place the boiler somewhere behind one of the sides of the set; this is suitable if the color of the heater matches the furniture.

All design decisions must be made prior to boiler installation. In addition, you need to take care in advance about choosing the lining of communications. Discuss the required dimensions of the furniture, and pay special attention to the dimensions of the place where the cabinet will be located.

As for the floor-standing AGV, it can be placed in the corner of the kitchen, it can also be installed in a floor-standing cabinet, but all safety regulations must be observed.

Design with cabinet

If the boiler was purchased after the kitchen set had already been installed, and it is not possible to hide it, it is possible to hide it behind a self-made door. In order to make a cabinet, you will need wooden slats and chipboards. The tools you may need are: a tape measure, various bolts, a cutter, awnings and a ready-made door that will look like a kitchen set.

Before you start creating a cabinet, you will need to very accurately calculate the design parameters. Please note that the minimum distance from the boiler to each wall will be 3 cm. Accordingly, when calculating the width and height, you will need to add 6 cm to the dimensions of the boiler. Having received the required indicators, you can select the door of the desired size.

Now you can get to work.

  1. To begin with, we make the side walls of the future cabinet from chipboard. The easiest way to do this is with an electric jigsaw. Pay attention to the depth, it should be 3 cm greater than the depth of the gas boiler.
  2. At the bottom of one of the walls we make holes that will help connect communications to the boiler. You will need to make another hole at the top; it will be needed for the chimney.
  3. We make special holes on the right and left sides that will be required for the awnings.
  4. While maintaining perpendicularity, the entire structure must be assembled and fastened with bolts. There should not be a back wall; instead, several planks are attached.
  5. We attach the cabinet door to the prepared canopies. The finished structure can be placed on the boiler and hung on the wall.

Thus, you can even install the unit in a corner; for this you will need to make a corner cabinet with the same door. If you don’t want to do design work, you can simply disguise the boiler using stickers or decals.

You can close the boiler not only using chipboard, but also using drywall. This method is similar to the previous one, only here the basis will be drywall, which will be hung on the boiler.

To carry out this work you will need:

  • metal profiles;
  • GKL slabs;
  • facade headset;
  • hinges for installing the door;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • screwdriver or screwdriver.

Now that you have all the necessary materials at hand, you can begin the design process.

The operating technology is simple:

  • in a parallel position from the walls of the boiler, retreating about 4 cm, we construct a profile frame;
  • We fasten all metal elements using self-tapping screws and place them on the wall;
  • We cut out sheets of the required size from plasterboard and mount them on the already assembled frame;
  • in one of the installed walls we create several recesses to place hinges in them; they, in turn, must be screwed to the profile.

After this you can place the boiler. The last thing you need to do is hang the door.

Other options

You can hide a gas boiler in the kitchen not only in a closet; there are ideas that, as you are convinced, will help you use this installation for individual heating in an apartment in the most profitable way.

In addition to the method discussed above, there are a number of simpler ones that allow you to decorate the surface of the boiler so that it matches other furniture designs.

  • if work will be carried out on the facade of the boiler, then the film should be selected in such a way that its differences with the rest of the set are minimized;
  • the work must be carried out very carefully so that bubbles do not appear, pasting must begin from the top, and each subsequent centimeter must be carefully smoothed;
  • When the work is finished, all protruding excess film can be cut off using a stationery knife.

Of course, this design has a number of obvious disadvantages.

These include:

  • difficult selection of film, since it is not always possible to find the shade and pattern that would match the set;
  • such a coating will not last long;
  • very often such finishing leads to loss of service warranty.

Sometimes you can find painted boilers. But this approach is chosen only in relation to old Soviet-type models that have been hanging indoors for a long time. It is unlikely that anyone will decide to design the new model in this way.

If the owner decides to paint, then he will need to do the following:

  • the surface of the boiler must be cleaned and degreased using white spirit; please note that already at this stage you lose the warranty on boiler maintenance;
  • Since the bodies of these thermal units are made of metal, it is better to purchase nitro enamel for painting; the painting itself can be done in any convenient way.

Most often, if the kitchen design has already been developed, the new boiler is hung on the side of the unit. Even if its design is different, it will still be able to fit into the already formed environment. If the unit is made in white, and the set is in a different color, but it has white elements, then the idea can be very successful.
