How to sew clothes for a dog using your own patterns. Pure CAT - Furniture and clothing for animals. Elegant dress for a small dog

Now we will talk about our smaller brothers - dogs and clothes for them. None of the dog lovers will argue that clothing for them in the city has become simply necessary. After all, our pets are no longer the same descendants of wolves, they are accustomed to the warmth and dryness of apartments, and besides, these reagents are used to treat roads from ice...Today I suggest you create a pattern for the basis of overalls for a dog according to the pet’s individual sizes, with the ability to subsequently model this basis and create various models and cuts.

Let's start by taking measurements. Have you ever had to take measurements of a dog? Surely those who buy clothes for their pet and measure the basic measurements in order to know the size and not make a mistake with the choice understand how sometimes it is not easy to do this). The youngest puppies just don't want to stand still! I don’t know how you will solve this problem (maybe turn on cartoons?...), but you will have to do it. After all, you want the suit to fit!)))

So, the most important rules when taking measurements:

1. We take measurements from the dog, only in a standing position.

2. Try to measure in the widest parts

3. When determining the length of the back, it is very important that the dog stands and does not sit or lie down.

4. When removing the neck girth, be guided by the size of the collar

5. Take measurements without tightening the measuring tape too much.

6. We take measurements without allowances for loose fit, or (if you still want to take into account loose fit before construction) do not forget about this during construction! Control yourself by measuring and comparing the dimensions on the drawing with the actual dimensions of the dog’s body.

11. Hind leg circumference

Zh1M2 (acts as a test measure)

We begin the construction by determining the height and length of our structure. We will need measurements: Back Length and Height at Withers. see fig.1

From the floor line up in straight line C, set aside the measurement Distance from the collar in front to the floor line, place point D. Here, at this stage, we will determine the width of the overalls on the side. Section of the pancreas. It is equal to - Chest girth minus Width between the front paws, divide the difference by 2. See Fig. RV = (Og-Shpl) And the distance PO, in turn, is the measure Distance from the collar to the line of the beginning of the front paw, we measured it and we have it in our table.

The OG line is the neck line, we will create smooth lines.

Next, let's start drawing out the belly line of the overalls. We divide the segment PN, along the line of the back, in half with point M. From point M, lower the perpendicular MF1 = (Ot-Shpl)/2 We connect the points LV1. From point Z we draw a straight line parallel to CH and extend it left and right, see fig. We divide the segment ZhZh1 in half by a perpendicular lowered onto the straight line Zh. We connect the point obtained when the perpendicular intersects the straight line with t.Zh and t.Zh1

We will determine the width of the panties at the bottom of the front paw for each of us according to this scheme: Wrist girth of the front paw + freedom allowance (at your discretion, from 4-6 cm depends on the fabric and processing method, for example with an elastic band) ZZ 1 = 1/2 the width of the pants at the bottom (Ozap + allowance)/2. In the drawing we distribute it in this way - from point B to the left - t. Z, IN Z= 1/3 ZZ 1, to the right - ВЗ1= 2/3 ZZ 1. Connect GZ1, ZZh with straight lines.

For a better fit of the overalls and ease of movement, you need to design a dart. To do this, from the line drawn from T.Zh, up along straight line G, we will set aside a tuck solution of 3 cm. Its depth is calculated by the formula 3 * solution size, i.e. = 9 cm. the tuck solution, when processed, will shorten the length of the trouser leg; we must make up for it, extending it by 3 cm, in the area from point Z1 down. We design the bottom with a smooth curve, see fig.

From t. H down to the floor line we lower the perpendicular HH1. We divide the NM in half, and connect the resulting point to M1. Н1М1 = measurement Height from the floor to the base of the tail.

Width Р1Р2 from the drawing of the front leg. Р1Р2=ЗЗ1, Н1Р1=1/3 Р1Р2, Н1З2= 2/3 Р1Р2

From point P we draw a perpendicular upward, and from point Z1 a straight line parallel to the back line. Let us denote the point of intersection of straight line Ж1 and straight line НН1 as M2. From point M2 to the left, set aside a distance along the straight line Ж1 equal to the distance Н1Р2 - designate it as M21. From this point, lower down a straight line perpendicular to the floor line, to the floor line.

From the point dividing the NM in half, through the point obtained at the intersection of straight lines Ж1 and Р1, we draw a straight line until it intersects with the straight line drawn from point M21. Designate the intersection point as SK. (See Figure 8) Its location should correspond to the position of your dog's hock joint. Check and adjust if necessary.

We will connect points P1 SK and the intersection point of straight lines Ж1 and Р1 as in Figure 8.

Connect points M1 and the intersection point of lines Zh1 and P1 with a straight line. Next, adjust it by making it round, repeating the natural shape of the animal’s body. For a better fit, you need to add volume in the form of a dart, which can be converted into a gather when sewing. Along the newly drawn line from point M1, set aside 3 cm, then the solution of the dart itself is 3 cm, the depth of the dart corresponds to two solutions of the dart itself + 1-2 cm, i.e. 6-8 cm. Design the dart. see fig. 9

From point P1 down, set aside a distance equal to the tuck opening - 3 cm. This will help compensate for the length of the trouser leg after processing the dart. Decorate the bottom of the trouser leg in accordance with Figure 9.

The pattern of the lower part of the overalls is the abdomen. Draw a Rectangle with a width equal to the measurement Width between the front paws, and a length equal to the length of the segments from the overalls drawing. They are marked with a red line in the drawing. Divide the rectangle into 3 equal parts and increase its width in the places of the dividing lines, because as shown in the figure, the lines of the side parts of the rectangle should be smoothly curved, resembling the shape of a barrel. Remember to take your dog's gender into account when designing the length of the belly piece.

The inner part of the pants of the overalls is cut out separately, repeating the pattern details of the lower part of the drawing of the overalls.

Important! After constructing the base pattern for the overalls, check the drawing by measuring the width and length in sections, using appropriate measurements and comparing their values with the measurements in the sections of the pattern drawing.

This is the pattern we came up with. This dog overalls pattern is a basic one, i.e. a base pattern. It includes minimum freedom increases. With its help, you can simulate various modifications of overalls for different seasons. These, for example, require almost no changes to the basic pattern.

If you have chosen other models, you just need to take into account the additional freedom of fit you need, based on the properties of the fabric, the number of layers, the thickness of the insulation... You also need to take into account the model features of the clothing, use your imagination!

And one more tip: try sewing a sample using this pattern from inexpensive fabric, where you use a marker to draw the finishing lines and eliminate any inaccuracies in the fit, if any, using pins.

Good luck and creative mood!

With the onset of cold weather, you can increasingly see dogs on the streets dressed in fancy warm overalls. And this is not only a tribute to fashion trends. Short-haired animals can freeze, and long-haired animals can get dirty. Clothes for animals are not that cheap, but you can sew a jumpsuit for a dog yourself.

How to take measurements from a dog

To create a pattern and sew a jumpsuit for an animal, you need to take the measurements correctly. Before starting this activity, the dog should be placed in a stance. Otherwise, her body parameters will change and the dimensions will not correspond to reality.

When measuring, data should be recorded as it actually is, without adding centimeters for allowances. The fact is that there are a large number of clothing patterns for dogs, and allowances are calculated when cutting the fabric. In addition, the number of added centimeters directly depends on what kind of fabric the overalls are made from.

To measure your dog accurately, use a factory-made measuring tape.

Basic measurements that will need to be taken:

  • Chest girth - the parameter is measured at the widest point of this part of the animal's body.
  • Back length is the distance from the withers to the base of the tail.
  • Belly girth - measured at the narrowest part of the dog's body.
  • Neck circumference - measured in the place where the collar is usually located.
  • The distance between the front and hind legs is measured from the side.
  • Paw height - this parameter is necessary if you are sewing overalls with “sleeves”.
  • Distance from neck to armpits.
  • The volume of the hind leg at its widest part is the only measurement that needs to be taken when the animal is sitting.
  • Distance between front paws.

These measurements will be enough to sew a beautiful and cozy overalls for your pet.

You can use soap instead of chalk

In order to sew any thing, you need patterns. There are a large number of ready-made patterns for overalls for dogs, changing which in accordance with the measurements taken, you can make a magnificent product.

To sew a jumpsuit you will need:

  • two types of fabric - outer fabric, preferably waterproof, and lining. When choosing fabric, consider how comfortable your pet will be in the clothes. This is especially true for the lining. Flannel, cotton, fleece and other soft and warm fabrics are chosen for it;
  • threads;
  • tractor zipper;
  • two elastic bands;
  • Velcro;
  • tape measure;
  • graph paper; if you don’t have it, you can use old wallpaper;
  • sewing machine;
  • chalk;
  • scissors;
  • pins.

Using patterns, dog clothes can be decorated as per your choice. The simplest overalls pattern for a dog. To sew such a jumpsuit, you only need one measurement - the length of the dog's back. All other dimensions change in accordance with this parameter.

When measuring the length of the back, the dog must stand on a flat surface

And this is a modeled overalls pattern with separate sleeves and legs. It is built on the basis of the previous one. Suitable if your pet has non-standard sizes.

Any pattern can be changed at your discretion

This is a pattern for a complex jumpsuit with a hood and cuffs. However, it is advisable to sew cuffs onto any overalls or insert elastic bands down the sleeves.

This pattern is suitable for experienced craftswomen

Did you know that the appearance of Velcro for clothing is associated with dogs? Georges de Mestral used to remove burdock heads from his fur after walking his dog. One day he examined them under a microscope, thanks to which he saw tiny hooks, with their help the heads cling to the fur of animals (for example, dogs). This is how de Mestral came up with the idea of Velcro.

Step-by-step sewing instructions

It is best to use natural fabric

How to sew a jumpsuit:

  1. Before you start sewing overalls, you should choose a pattern and prepare all the necessary materials and tools. To sew the overalls described below, a simple pattern was used.

    Try to make a pattern so that you can then sew a jumpsuit using it

  2. Measure the length of your dog's back.

    Make sure your dog is standing straight

  3. Enlarge the pattern according to the measured parameter and transfer it to tracing paper.
  4. Make a copy of the parts cut out from tracing paper onto old wallpaper or graph paper.

    Try to be precise when transferring the pattern onto tracing paper.

  5. Lay out the resulting patterns on the fabric. To prevent them from slipping, it is best to secure them with pins.

    Trace all the details with chalk and cut them out, leaving a seam allowance of 1–1.5 cm

  6. This jumpsuit uses an insert made of the same fabric in a different color as decoration. However, it plays the role not only of decoration, but also of a belt on which the lace will subsequently be tightened.

    It is better to choose the color of the fabric that will be practical

  7. Cut out the details of the flannel lining according to the patterns, because the overalls should be not only beautiful, but also cozy.

    Flannel is a warm fabric, usually with fluffy pile

  8. Fold the outer and lining fabric pieces together and sew them together. If you have no experience in sewing, it is better to baste by hand first.

    Before sewing, check how the machine sews on an unnecessary piece of fabric

  9. Place a lace in the side inserts of a different color.

    The lace must be bent in half

  10. If the pattern was without a fold, then sew the details of the overalls in this place.

    Take your time, sew the parts carefully

  11. To sew a jumpsuit, fold the corresponding parts with the right sides inward and stitch them.

    First, the parts in the chest area are sewn together, then the front legs.

  12. Now you can sew on the side panels.

    To make the seams even, you can use a strip of electrical tape, which must be glued at the required distance from the needle.

  13. The back parts of the garment are sewn to the side inserts.

    The overalls will protect your pet from dirt, dust, insect bites

  14. Lastly, the parts of the hind legs are sewn together.

    Usually, raincoat fabric is used as the material for overalls.

  15. Since the jumpsuit is for autumn, it has a collar.

    We select the color of the collar the same as the color of the belt

  16. Fold the collar piece right side inward and stitch.

    After the overalls, you can sew a jacket and panties

How to train an animal to wear clothes in the cold season

Dogs are not people. Wearing clothes doesn't come naturally to them, so they may have a lot of resistance when trying to put them on, especially for the first time. Each dog has its own individual character. Some will calmly accept the owner’s “quirk” and allow themselves to be dressed in overalls, while others will desperately resist this. There are no universal ways to accustom a dog to clothes, but there are some recommendations that will help in this difficult task:

  • You should accustom your dog to clothes from the tender age of the puppy. This way the animal will better accept its wardrobe, which will undoubtedly be constantly updated.
  • In any case, it is best to accustom your pet to clothes with light blankets that cover the back. Moreover, this should be done at home. Let your pet walk around the house in a blanket for a few minutes a day. Then you can change them to T-shirts, overalls without “sleeves” and, last but not least, you can dress the dog in a closed suit.
  • New clothes, even hand-sewn ones, will have an unfamiliar smell to the dog. Therefore, it is better if she stays at home for several days. This way the pet will better accept the new thing.
  • When putting a jumpsuit on your dog for the first time, there is no need to be irritated, even if he resists. Swearing will only scare away the animal. You should gently but persistently bring the matter to an end.
  • To prevent a dressed dog from becoming fixated on clothes, you need to distract him with something. Play with him, for example, with a ball. The pet will be distracted and forget about the inconvenience.
  • Many dogs, when wearing overalls for the first time, freeze or even lie down on the floor. There is no need to persuade them or feel sorry for them. And even more so, you should not immediately undress the dog. She will take this as encouragement for her behavior, and in the future it will be very difficult to accustom her to overalls.

It is not difficult to sew clothes for a dog with your own hands. After all, measurements with millimeter accuracy are not required here. The animal should feel comfortable in clothes. It is advisable that the suit be loose and not restrict movement. But in a jumpsuit made by you, your pet will look original and stylish, because you can create any model depending on your wishes.

After you sew a jumpsuit with your own hands, it will not be difficult for you to make another blouse and pants for your beloved four-legged pet.

A small dog cannot do without its own wardrobe. And if decorative costumes can be dispensed with, the presence of functional clothing has already turned from a whim of the owners into a mandatory element of keeping an animal. Functional clothing includes items intended for autumn and winter walks, safety shoes, and sanitary panties for use at home.

Walking clothes are made from easy-to-care, washable fabrics. Autumn options are single-layer, designed to protect wool from dirt and slush. Winter clothes have an additional insulating layer and are in high demand among owners of smooth-haired and small breeds.

Sweatshirt

You will need two measurements - back length and chest circumference. In accordance with them, cut out the details of the back, chest and hood from knitted fabric, not forgetting the seam allowances. Assembling the hood. Connect the chest and back and sew on the finished hood. The armholes, bottom and edge of the hood are treated with contrasting braid.

If you have mastered these simple models, then the next step is for your baby.

cap

To determine how many loops you need, you need to cast on 20 loops on the knitting needles, knit 10 cm and count how many loops fit in one centimeter.

Measure the circumference of your head and divide the resulting number in half. Cast on the number of loops corresponding to the half-girth. Knit a fabric equal to twice the height of the cap. Knit the first and last 3-5 cm with a 1x1 elastic band.

Fold the resulting fabric in half so that the elastic band of the front part protrudes by 1-2 cm. Sew the side seams and decorate the corners of the hat with pom-poms or tassels.

In addition to such a hat, you can knit a scarf or shawl.

Sewing and designing clothes for a pet does not require a lot of time and can turn into a favorite hobby that will bring you pleasure and your dog a constant replenishment of his wardrobe.

In inclement weather, people bundle up in warm, comfortable, waterproof clothing that is comfortable and in line with fashion trends. Our faithful, devoted little brothers - dogs - suffer no less than us from heat, wind, and bad weather. Being responsible for those who were taken into the family and tamed, we take care of our four-legged friends, worrying about their health and well-being. Do-it-yourself clothing for dogs, the patterns of which are modeled taking into account the parameters of your pet, will warm you up in cold weather, hide you from the rain, and highlight your pet’s stylish, fashionable “outfit.”

The quality of a dog clothing pattern largely depends on the correctness of taking measurements. Then the process of designing and modeling outfits with your own hands will require perseverance, attention and drawing skills from you. Transferring the finished pattern onto the fabric will not be difficult, and the main point at this stage will be the process of choosing the material. Don't forget about the accessories: zippers, fasteners, Velcro, finishing tapes and elastic bands are present in most models of clothing for dogs.

How to take measurements correctly

To ensure that your hand-made clothes fit your dog perfectly - without restricting movement or rubbing the skin - consider the main rules for measuring your pet:

  • All measurements are taken in a standing position.
  • In order for the parameters to be correct and the pattern to follow the contours of the dog’s body, it is necessary to take measurements in the widest places:
    • neck circumference is equal to the volume of the collar;
    • chest volume is measured directly behind the front paws;
    • The length of the back is determined by the distance from the withers to the base of the dog's tail when standing.
  • Don't forget to add 1 to 3 cm to the pattern when cutting the material: this will be seam allowances and the loose fit of the garment.

Material selection

The summer heat is not the best reason to dress up your beloved dog in a variety of clothes. Give your four-legged friend the opportunity to breathe freely and not overheat. On a cool evening, cotton, knitted T-shirts and T-shirts are perfect. The spring-autumn season brings inclement, rainy weather, so waterproof bologna and raincoat fabric will be available during this time.

To keep your dog warmer, wear a jumper or sweater underneath, knitted by yourself, in the threads of which the proportion of wool or cotton should be at least 40%. Natural or artificial fur, fleece, padding polyester (as the lining of overalls) will reliably protect your pet from frost and snow. Use woolen fabrics for coats and drape for sewing outerwear patterns.

Building a basic pattern for modeling and sewing

So that every piece of clothing for dogs with your own hands, a pattern for which you find or design, fits perfectly on your four-legged friend, you will need patience and time:

  • Draw a rectangle, one side of which is equal to the length of the garment.
  • Set aside the points corresponding to your waist and chest measurements.
  • Then you need to mark the width of the back, extending the pattern line.
  • Dividing the width of the back into 2 equal parts, we get the intersection point, from which measure 1/3 of the girth of the dog’s neck.
  • By connecting the dots in a semicircle, we get the neck line.
  • Then you need to construct a shoulder section and calculate the size of the armhole for the dog’s front and hind legs.
  • When cutting out clothes with your own hands, do not forget to leave a cutout for the tail.
  • To pattern a sleeve, you will need to measure the length of each dog's paw, the volume - along the bones of the upper joint.

Models of clothing for dogs with patterns and job descriptions

Clothing for dogs is not a whim or whim of glamorous young ladies. Decorative babies - toy terriers, Yorkies, chihuahuas, short-haired dachshunds, pinschers and other dog breeds are highly susceptible to the influence of weather conditions. And what can we say about the now popular Chinese crested dogs - graceful, cheerful and funny dogs, whose hair is present only on the head, ears, tail and paws, and the body is freezing.

Rain or snow, frost, strong wind can cause hypothermia in a small family pet. Warm clothing will protect you in bad weather; elegant models will emphasize the exquisitely glamorous image of the dog. Treat yourself and your little friend with a collection of clothes created with your own hands using patterns and templates. The trends of the 2019 season in the world of dog fashion remain plaid fabrics and materials with graphic prints. Do you want to create bright outfits with your own hands? Sew clothes for your favorite dog by developing a pattern and cutting the fabric according to your pet's measurements.

So, the wardrobe of any self-respecting dog - from a Pekingese to a German Shepherd - should include:

  • Overalls for snowy frosty weather.
  • A lightweight option for the off-season.
  • Waterproof suit.
  • Cape/blanket.
  • A couple of knitted jumpers and hats.

Other outfits - summer T-shirts, T-shirts, dresses, skirts - are not a necessary attribute of a dog’s life. The presence of fashionable clothes in the summer wardrobe is rather due to the desire of the owners to dress up their pet. You can sew unusual exclusive styles, casual suits for walking, and elegant models with your own hands using the patterns given below. Detailed instructions will explain step by step the main points that are worth focusing on.

How to sew a jumpsuit for a Yorkshire Terrier

To sew this cute, warm overall for a Yorkshire Terrier dog with your own hands, you will need basic measurements of your pet and high-quality material. Clothes are ideal for dry, cool weather. The pattern consists of 4 parts: back, front, sleeves and collar. Bright, beautiful fabric, decorative elements - frills, satin ribbons - will decorate the model. The zipper is located on the back of the garment. It is suitable for playful and capricious dogs who do not like to dress for a long time.

Dachshund blanket

This type of clothing will be worn with pleasure by dogs of the hunting breed in the spring and autumn seasons. The structural features of dachshunds have advantages when hunting, but in cold or rainy weather the paws, lower body, and ears quickly get wet and freeze. A blanket is a universal wardrobe item that provides freedom of movement. If your pet is not accustomed from childhood to wearing clothes sewn from patterns with your own hands, it will be the best option.

The pattern itself is simple, and to construct it, you need to know the length of the back to the base of the tail and the volume of the chest under the front legs. Velcro or buckle closure will help you adjust the fit. The cool season threatens dogs with hypothermia, and a lightweight blanket, hand-sewn from natural fabrics - wool, cotton, absorbs sweat well, protecting the animal from rapid hypothermia in windy weather..

Stylish overalls with a hood for Chihuahuas

These decorative lap dogs are representatives of a “special” caste and are also the tiniest dogs in the world. Brave, playful, they love walks, but often get cold. A warm jumpsuit, sewn with your own hands according to the pattern in the photo, will increase the time the Chihuahua spends outside, and the hood will protect it from rain and wind. A zipper on the back will help you quickly fasten your clothes, emphasizing a stylish look.

Pattern and knitting pattern for a jumper

A warm, hand-knitted sweater for a dog will be an excellent clothing option in cool weather, and will also serve as a good layer under overalls in the winter. Measure the circumference of the pet's neck and body length from the withers to the tail. The first measurement will be needed to cut out the neckline, and the second will be needed to determine the length of the garment. Opt for threads containing at least 40-45% wool so that sweat is easily absorbed and the dog does not freeze during a walk.

Elegant dress for a small dog

Many housewives attend various events - parties, receptions - with their beloved pets. It is necessary not only for a beautiful lady, but also for her dog to look elegant, fashionable, and trendy. Airy tulle, tulle, decorated with sequins will be an excellent basis for creating an elegant dress model. Sewn with your own hands according to a pattern corresponding to the size of your little pet, decorated with decorative elements, the dress will emphasize the glamorous style of clothing, attracting everyone’s attention to the owner and her “friend.”

Scheme for making winter shoes for a pet

To make your own homemade slippers for your dog, you will need thick, non-slip material. When modeling the pattern, measure the size of your pet's paw: this will be the base-sole. Sew stockings made of thinner fabric to it (the pattern for the hind legs should be a few cm above the hock joint). All that remains is to sew fasteners or Velcro in two places: above the paw and along the upper edge of the shoe. The winter option involves the use of warm, waterproof material for the boot, rubberized or leather fabric for the sole.

Warm reversible overalls for large breed dogs

A hand-sewn warm jumpsuit will help protect your four-legged friend from wind, cold, rain or snow. The winter version of the pattern provides for a warm top layer of fabric (drape, cashmere) and internal insulation (fur, fleece, flannel). The pattern is convenient because, depending on the weather conditions, the overalls are worn with one or the other side out.

Rules for drawing up patterns

When choosing a pattern for dogs, you should pay attention to some details:

  1. The figures of dogs of different breeds differ in both silhouette and size. For example, a Staffy and a Poodle are approximately the same size. But if you sew overalls for a staff dog using a pattern designed for a poodle, the clothes will be tight for the dog in the chest area. For this reason, dog clothing patterns are very often made to individual measurements.
  2. Clothes for dogs are often made in line with fashion trends for their owners. For example, in the wardrobe of the average dog you can find jeans, a cocktail dress, and classic outfits. The main thing to remember is that the dog should feel comfortable in clothes.

Below is a pattern for a complex jumpsuit with a large number of parts:

Pattern of overalls for dogs

In order to draw the above pattern to fit your dog, you should measure the length of the dog from the neck to the base of the tail (LN in the picture). Next, you should draw the above pattern on your sheet of paper.

Part No. 5 must be cut out in one copy, and all the rest - in two. The arrows show the longitudinal direction of the fabric threads. Now all that remains is to sew the overalls by connecting the parts with lines with the same letters. Please note that in detail 3, line KH does not need to be sewn to anything - this is an opening for the dog’s leg. Part No. 2 (front leg) is completely sewn into the armhole of part No. 1.

Pattern of overalls for dogs

Below is another version of the jumpsuit, with only 2 parts. It is sewn similarly to the previous model (we combine the letters).

Pattern of overalls for dogs

On my website you can find only a small part of all the ideas that dog clothing designers demonstrate. It should be noted that clothes are mainly sewn according to patterns for miniature breed dogs. The fact is that it is these breeds that suffer more than others from external conditions - cold wind, snow, rain, frost or, on the contrary, from the scorching sun. A beautifully dressed dog will repay its owner with double love and devotion, if these feelings can be measured at all.

DIY dog clothes.

The belt consists of two parts - one (outer) is made of denim, and the second (inner) is made of cotton or soft flannel, so that it does not rub the dog with hard seams. Harnesses are made according to the same principle as a belt. Those. The outer part is denim, the inner part is cotton. Places for pockets are indicated on the product details with dotted lines. Dog blanket

Let's start with the simplest. This blanket is easy to sew with your own hands. It can be a blanket made of fleece or faux suede and fur. Instead of buttons, you can use Velcro or fasteners for fur coats. You can sew a pocket or appliqué on the back. The back line can be made straight and the pattern will be made from one part plus a collar.

Dog Vest

This vest is useful for walking with your pet in cool weather; it can also be worn over a knitted jumpsuit in the winter cold. Sew such a vest from light fabric and you can walk in the warm spring.

The first thing we need to do is measure the length of your pet's back. To do this, we put a collar on it and measure the distance from the collar to the base of the tail. This will be the main size for this pattern, from which we will build. We draw a grid and transfer the pattern onto it. Don't forget about seam allowances.

You can choose two types of fabric for the vest - the top layer is waterproof fabric, the bottom layer is soft fleece or faux fur. The vest can be decorated with a faux fur collar, sewn on with armbands or an appliqué. Fasteners can be made both on the back and below on the stomach. It is most convenient to use a zipper on the back; on the stomach you can make buttons, Velcro or buttons.
